As an old guy who is regularly up by 6am and in bed by 11pm, I enthusiastically approve the move to 4 levels. Now if they would just start each day at 9am....

So none of last year's november 9 played in Day 1A.

I sure hope they play soon because I will be ready. Depending who is playing I'll either be wearing my Darus Suharto pokerstars outfit complete with Suharto glasses, or I'll be decked out in Dennis Phillips garb, complete with truck horn. I also have my anatomically correct Craig Marquis doll, as well as my Ylon Schwartz wig and my Kelly Kim "words of inspiration."

You forgot to mention your Scott Montgomery "I've never seen a dentist in my life" tooth set. Oh, and the David "Chino" Rheem look at me I'm a baller tilted, all white Dodgers hat.

Wow, like 80% of the field survived to Day 2. And Day 2 is 4 levels. It's going to take forever to get into the money, end of Day 4?

From the official WSOP structure:

"Play will continue on day 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D until the completion of level 5."

This last second change is a disgusting money grab and probably an outright fraud. I'm sure there are casual players who would not have played had they been informed they were only playing 4 levels on Day 1 and 2.

flew in from ireland thursday night, really wanted to start sunday, but this jetlag is still hitting me very bad, so probably will leave it til monday too.

heard a guy at feature table was given 5k to wear a full tilt hat last night, any1 have that link on whether its better to wear the gear from start if qualified through tilt/stars or wait to be approached?

Agreed, if there are less entrants than anticipated, it would have made more sense to cut a level on days 4,5 and/or 6...unless $$$ is the only driving force.

why does harrah's benefit from only playing 4 levels? just so they can get more people in the building?

Hotels, restaurants, etc. More people in town for a lot more days (especially given the gaps between Days 1 and 2 (and 1 day gap between 2 and 3)).
07-04-2009 , 01:23 PM
more people staying 4 extra days in hotels, and ****, while we're here, let's ****ing play blackjack.

After a bit of serious thought I fold and brainwash turns up 88 BB has aq bleh.

From the structure sheet:

Quote:
Adjustments may be made to the number of levels played each day.
Avg. stack Day 1a 2008 (5 levels, 20k chips, 1297 entries, 636 players left) - 40,786
Avg. stack Day 1a 2009 (4 levels, 30k chips, 1116 entries, 821 players left) - 40,779

I don't know what the above proves though...

I was at this table when this happened...guy claimed he thought Bloch's 1k chips was a 5k chip...obviously the extremely dark sunglasses he was wearing were so very useful in assisting his poker endeavors...

Oh and ship Day 2 57,375 IMO
