If you live in Las Vegas and thus do not need a room for NAPT-Venetian, we will rescind your room reservation and credit you with the value of said room ($890). You must provide proof of residence within 50 miles of the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to take advantage of this offer.

This offer is valid for this event only, and is being made available due to the number of players who live in the Las Vegas area who will be seeking to qualify on PokerStars for NAPT-Venetian.

This offer must be taken advantage of by 5pm ET on February 11th.
i don't live in vegas, so can't take advantage of that adjustment y'all (pokerstars) made. but i'm impressed and happy to see that you did that. obviously a lot of people were unhappy before, and it did seem a little inefficient to require the residents to use those funds on something they don't really need. i'm liking pokerstars more and more as i see them do the right thing like this.

Bryan, or anyone else associated with Stars:

Will there be live streaming of the last two days, like the EPT?

Bryan

I don't want to be a pain but what happens if I bust out the first day (God forbid) and choose to leave Las Vegas on Sunday morning. My assumption is that, based upon the email I got from Miguel, the rooms are prepaid and that I will end up paying $445 per night because I will not have the opportunity to get a refund on the additional 4 nights I did not stay. Who keeps those funds? The Venetian? I think the package would have been better if it was treated like you do the WSOP with the option for rooms or cash.

I had emailed Miguel earlier to ask if my wife and I could come in on Thursday instead of Friday and have our rooms paid through Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday and he replied back that this could not be done because these were prereserved and prepaid. I feel this is pretty inflexable when my assumption is that Pokerstars is not contributing anything to the purchase of the rooms and the the $890 from the prize package if covering everything.

By the way thank you for all you do in keeping up with these forums. Pokerstars really is the best!

an option for money instead of having 6 nights would have been great, but...

it's the first year/event, i'd be a little lenient in expecting stars to cover everything the first time through...

as the host hotel, the venetian loses out a lot if stars starts letting a bunch of people choose to take the money and stay elsewhere, with so many cheap hotel offers in vegas these days, i can see 70-80% of the people taking the money and booking somewhere else for cheap. if people want this thing to succeed this might be something all online qualifiers have to deal with...

personally, i'm fine with them making the hotel mandatory, except to those in LV...

This is the first ever NAPT so it's hard to say. That said, Poker Stars is running sats all the time and has 182 people already qualified with a month til the event. Seems like the field will be relatively soft.

Tons of pros will be in the main event. A few pros will be in the pre lims. The events you speak of are 300 and 500$ buyin live tournaments. They will be very soft, pretty much by default. The majority of the "pros" will be in LA during the prelim events.

Would also like to know this. Also could rooms at venetian possibly sell out if I don't end up winning a seat through ps? Would really hate having to stay somewhere else in vegas and having to walk/taxi to venetian every day.

Venetian + Palazzo are huge, and they ordinarily take on a bunch of conferences with way more people than this poker tournament so I think your relatively safe.

They still have the two stud tables in the salon, per usual.
