they may give you an exception but they may also be EXTREMELY stubborn about it

I got one exception for kiev and then assumed I would be able to do it again for barcelona and despite sending several emails about how I was supernova last year and the only reason I wasnt platinum/supernova right then is because I was traveling playing wsops and epts, they still wouldnt let me. even talking to people I know in charge did not work. pretty lame policy but I guess they earned a few bucks from me because of it, so congrats to them
