bleh stupid question:

What's Venetian's standard policy with regards to the 30% witholding tax for Canadians?
Is it 30% of the total cash amount or 30% of profit > 5k?

e.g. say you cash for 30k, do they withhold 30% of 30k? or 30% of 25k?

obviously only asking because I'm 99% sure at the WSOP last year it was the latter, while yesterday they withheld 30% of the total cash amount (8.5k of 28.5k) for me and I didn't realize until now.

so several times at 100k/200k, the SB has limped then the BB raised to 350k....

isn't a min raise 200k so they have to put out 400k total or am I missing something here?

I'm a resident of the country that beat Canada in hockey so I don't have personal knowledge regarding this question, but withholding AFAIK should always be done on the net amount.

Sick Pot: Dunno, seems like Sam had pretty good control of the heads up match and didn't really need to play a gigantic pot with bottom pair...

Reversal of Fortune

Whoa. Sam Stein had been in such control of this heads-up match but the tables have very suddenly turned. He and Tom Marchese took a raised flop of {6-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {5-Hearts}. Stein checked and then called a bet of 625,000 from Marchese.

The turn looked like a blank, the {4-Spades}. Again Stein checked. Marchese fired a second bullet, and it was a big one -- 1,450,000. Stein called again.

On the river {10-Clubs}, Stein checked a third time. Marchese opted to put his whole stack on the line. Stein stood up from his chair, eyeballed Marchese's stack, and then said "I call."

Marchese couldn't have felt good about turning over {K-Spades} {9-Hearts} for a pair of kings. But it turned out that was the best hand -- Stein showed {J-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for just a pair of fives. With that huge swing, Marchese is now the chip leader in this heads-up match.

Also, that picture is awesome. Dude is bending his knees and has his shoulders slumped and he's still like 2 inches taller
