If they don't make this a two day start event it will be a zoo at the Venetian.
I think this will be a huge field.
The Venetian has an enormous amount of space available if they really need it. I think if the field gets really large in the days leading up to it, they can add enough tables on short notice. Besides, a 30k starting stack doesn't keep WSOP ME players from busting in the first few hours, so it's not like alternates will be waiting all day.
RE: satellites, they have their standard sng's that would have a 1k-ish buy-in. Those run on demand all the time. They would probably run 1-winner $500 buy-in sng's if there was interest too.
so i decided to make a pretty bad river bet-call w/ top two in the 1k and eliminate myself in the 2nd level... how many officially entered & what was first? anyone still in? there was like 60 in when i sat down and then ~105 or so were registered the last time i looked at the board.
Wow, take a day off from posting and you can get really backed up (in response to ?'s, that is...)
First off, let me just reassure everyone that this event will run smoothly. No matter what we have to do, even if it means we put in 100+ tables.
We have been faced with many obstacles as we have grown over the years and we have always ironed them out so that you, the player, were able to have to most enjoyable tournament experience possible. This event will be no exception. We expect that problems will arise and we are committed to solving them as seamlessly as we have in the past.
In regards to live satellites...
This, I believe, will be our 12th DSE and in the past, the supers were never very well attended. Thus, our hesitation to have too many of them. Granted, this is our first major televised event and it is entirely possible the we have underestimated the amount of players who will be wishing to satellite in. I guarantee that if our supers on the 19th are well attended, in the future we will take your advice and run them for a week, or so, leading up to the ME.
The good news is, if there really are as many players wishing to satellite in as stated in this thread, the supers on the 19th should give away tons of seats!
Anyone know of the cheapest hotel with solid internet in the Venetian area? I think the venetian, sorry dcarp, may be too expensive. If there is or are any fellow MTTcers who has a place in Vegas with an empty closet sized space for me to rent out, and would be so kind to do so until the 20th, or for any length of time before the 20th, it would enable me to drive out there or greyhound out there tomorrow, and not have to go through the process of debating finding the cheapest hotel available with solid internet versus the idea of just spending nights in my car.
Staff were told today that PS is adding events to play for the duration of NAPT Main Event. I see the $25k is one of them. There was something said about a $10k event, but nothing concrete. The finalized schedule is supposed to be hammered out within a day or two.
Poker rates are still available. You need to reference group code CP02L1 (that's a zero before the 2) when you book your room. This will qualify you for a rate of $119 wkdy and $159 wknd as long as you play, at least, one event (or average of 6 hours/day of cash games). A $15 resort fee will be added to all reservations. The resort fee entitles you to free internet access, newspaper, local and 800 phone calls, and access to the gym.
prob. a stupid question, but where do you enter the group code when booking online? or do you have to book on the 'phone?
