does anyone know if the pokerstars hoody that is required attire is a zip up or not? i wanted to make some t-shirts to bust out for this tourney, but if they're just gonna be covered completely that would be an ignorant move by me

Here is the rule:

If you qualified through non-cash qualifiers (FPP, TLB, VIP satellites) you are obliged to wear the PokerStars logo exclusively. If you qualified through a cash qualifier you are encouraged to wear the PokerStars logo gear.


If you are required to wear PStars gear, I doubt that they are going to make you were a hoodie.

word, thanks for your help. and i am req'd to wear it. stars responded to my inquiry with "you can wear your t-shirt under the hoodie and hat", but they didn't describe which version of the hoodie (opened or closed front) it will be. i think i'll just make the t-shirt anyway and if it works cool, if not oh well. it's not a big deal ... poker is the priority, not my lame first attempt at caring about my clothing. thanks again for addressing my question, sir

no one will care what you are wearing unless you get close to the FT. then if you qualified via pokerstars you will have to wear their gear.

Although in your case, you need to be hitting up Stars.

The Venetian 5K NAPT Main event will change the face of poker in Las Vegas.

It is now 3 weeks before the event is scheduled to start, and there are already almost 300 players registered.

While Bellagio has struggled to get 50 players for their 5k's, this event could easily draw over 1,000.

Here are a few suggestions to make this event a huge success.

1) Have a super satellite for $500 every afternoon about 5pm, for a week or so before the event. People will surely play this after busting the prelim, and some players may make a special trip just to try to win a seat.

Throw in one or two 1K supers where one in 5 win seats. These are very popular at Borgata and generate alot of seats.

The current schedule of one $200 super the day before (1 in 25 win seats) is lacking.

2) Have 2 starting days. There could easily be 1200 players in this by the time the 20th rolls around. I'm not sure how many players the Venetian can seat without alternates, but why even take a chance? No one wants to be an alternate in an event with 30k starting stacks.

Also, Day 1 conflicts with the LAPC Celebrity Invitational, and has other conflicts with LAPC events if people advanced the day earlier. By having 2 start days, it would give players one more day to get to Vegas if they were involved in another event at the LAPC.

3) Make the logo policy a little more flexible. The WPT and WSOP tried similar restrictive logo policies and eventually saw the light.

Pretty much agree here... I really don't think the Venetian is truly prepared for this to get that many players, the mere mention of alternates in this sort of event is a joke.

Allen, good post/thread, a little late, but good...almost unthinkable to see them change the schedule this late in the process. but agree with most of your suggestions: 1 Starting day for this event is just a bad idea...and more satellites/qualifiers is always a good idea, but will make the 'only one starting day' even worse...

Also, if you stop opening too many stupid threads and complain about everything under the sun, good threads/posts like this will not get any hateful commentary....
