Anyway, here it is, all the info regarding the upcoming Venetian DSE/NAPT Event.

First, here are some quick links to the new DSE schedule...

http://www.napt.com/tournaments/venetian/

...and structure...

http://www.napt.com/tournaments/structure/

So, you'll notice that the ME will be $5,000 instead of $2,500 and will be on the 20th instead of 23rd. It will be a 5-day event. The final table will be televised on a major network, with the 1st four days having floating cameras catching some of the earlier action.

There will only be ONE day 1 and the starting stack is 30,000.

There are freeroll satellites for this event, see Pokerstars.net for further details.

At the Venetian, we will be running 1 and 2 table satellites starting on January 28th. Specifically, we are scheduling a 2-table satellite every night at 8pm and whenever we get a list of enough interested.

Feb 19th are supersatellites: 12:00pm $220 plus $200 rebuys for first 3 levels
4:00pm $220 plus $200 rebuys for first 3 levels
8:00pm $540 no rebuys

Starting chips for the $200's will be 3,000 with 2,000 chips/rebuy.
Starting chips for the $500 will be 5,000.

Poker rates are still available. You need to reference group code CP02L1 (that's a zero before the 2) when you book your room. This will qualify you for a rate of $119 wkdy and $159 wknd as long as you play, at least, one event (or average of 6 hours/day of cash games). A $15 resort fee will be added to all reservations. The resort fee entitles you to free internet access, newspaper, local and 800 phone calls, and access to the gym.

We will still be doing our 'Best Overall Player' award. Half of one percent will be held out of the prize pools for this award, with the top 4 players receiving 40, 30, 20, and 10% of the money collected.

We will continue our normal 7pm $120 tournament throughout this event, with the exception of February 19th.

And, now that I am out of work for a bit, I'll have time to respond to any questions...quickly.

i am on the phone w/ the venetian right now and they are saying that they are "sold out" and they cannot give me the reduced rates. i'm asking for a supervisor as this lady is not friendly.

Last edited by donniccolo; 01-29-2010 at 04:19 PM. Reason: after politely asking for her supervisor, and a brief hold, she magically wasn't "sold out" anymore!!

this is annoying, if you want to do this it shouldn't come out of our pockets, pony up the money yourselves

edit: if this comes out of the main even this is total bull****

The NAPT isn't part of the BOP, so the .5% isn't taken out.

Dantes, or anyone else, where can I find a running total of Poker Stars satellite qualifiers? Might have to skip the WPT invitational if this gets really big.

Dcarp, do you know how many are already registered, including the Poker Stars players?

Thanx

193 from Stars. As far as direct buy ins...none. I know for a fact that my boss has received wire transfers from players who will not be here until the last minute, how many...I do not know.

where are you going to put everyone if this event draws like 1,000 players? i assume you're ready to handle like upwards of 700-800 with ease, but do u really have enough tables for 1,000+?

i'm a little concerned any time a casino runs an event this size for the first time ever, i hope venetian is properly staffed for a lot of potential walk ups, this is gonna be hugeeeeeeee

~430 and ~340. Both fields ridiculously soft, very few aggro players.

They regularly draw 800 players for the deepstacks during the summer, it won't be a problem.

curious to know how people book for something like this......

One way ticket?
early return and then adjust if you are still alive?
late return and adjust if you bust?
stay for all 6 days and party if you bust

edit: changing flights/booking at last minute is often really expensive so I try to just book in advance

Is there anywhere to stay near the Venetian that would be cheaper? The base room rate isn't bad but once you add in the $30/night for 2 queen beds (my backer is coming) and the $15 resort fee its not cheap anymore.

harrah's isn't bad (price-wise), or any other harrah property anywhere and they have a shuttle every 30 min to most other harrah's properties. this is what i usually do cuz the venetian is my fave room but cant afford to stay there, so i stay elsewhere and bus it to harrah's and walk the block.

harrah's actual hotel is nicer than i thought it would be. for the price and the location i would recommend it. it's NOT THE BELLAGIO but it's nice.
