Ship!!!!! Sat'ed into the the $700 qualifier earlier this week in the evening $80 on my 2nd try (got my $80 back on the first try). Won my package to NAPT Main Event tonight in the $700. The Wife and I are really pumped about this trip!

Now rinse and repeat for T$

Any word back from 'Stars on awarding cash equivalent (heck, even T$) in lieu of hotel? Just won a qualifier myself--I do have a place I can stay at while in town, although I might choose the hotel anyway, just for the sake of convenience--or maybe 'Stars will let me transfer it?

When you guys said that winning a second qualifier pays in T$: Does that mean the whole $7K, or some combination of cash and T$?

I got the same email. Even if I did need a place to stay, I wouldn't want that package. $900 is a pretty sweet deal for them, I wouldn't want to give $t either...

I'm just going to skip it and ship the ironman.

It would be pretty awesome if they gave some type of credit to use at the venetian for food or something even.

Exactly, I don't get it either. Please add more sat's in the range of $20-50 FO's and 11R (non-turbo's) to $700 imo.

Nothing yet. I also heard that rooms werent worked out yet between the 2 parties, so how are they already prepaid? I dont care either way cause I am staying there, but this just seems like stars' way of simplifying everything.

it seems clear that they have a deal with venetian to pay $900 for each qualifier or they wouldn't care if we took $T instead of the room. Hell, they'd want us to take the $T...

At first when I got the E-mail about not being able to get $/T$ for my accommodations part of my NAPT package I shrugged it off. Venetian is a nice place to stay and I won't have to commute at all from my place in Vegas. But thinking about it more, Stars is using $890 from every package to go towards Venetian rooms that are supposedly pre-paid and pre-booked. Assuming you're booking that room yourself at the Venetian poker rate you'd be paying $119 S-T and $159 F/S. So that's $794 for those same nights. Then there's resort fees and taxes. But Stars is booking hundreds of rooms and basically giving us no better rate than the standard tournament rate. Rates at events like the PCA have been greatly discounted because of the business Stars brings in and the number of rooms booked.

Add in the fact that there's no tournaments during or after the main that I'm aware of. So most players won't stick around and will be paying for 6 nights at the same tournament rate as other players and have no ability to checkout early and regain the money for those nights.

If Stars keeps this policy the same, I'll direct buy seat only and take care of my own accommodations for any future NAPT event and I'd encourage anyone else to as well.

As I told you earlier. The Venetian info sheet also states that you must pay an upcharge in order to get a double bed room. If the Stars rooms are all singles, that limits your ability to split rooms to negate cost as well.

I read that too, but it sounded like a single $30 upgrade charge, not a per night charge the way I read it. Which seemed too minimal to include.

Plus we can get big suites instead of regular rooms. Last week, I stayed at 1100 sq ft Venetian Rialto suite with 2 queen beds at poker rate and it was great. If Star's package comes with a regular room, the package winners are losing so much value both in terms of $ and quality of the room.

can anyone give an estimate on how many more satellite qualifiers there will be? just trying to come up with an estimate for field size... this thing is going to be ridiculous, way better than any $5k at the venetian in the history of the place.
