I tend to play some times when I am on a bad run in mtts for something different and to get back into winning something/final table practice regardless how small the prize/stake.

I have been playing the last 3 days on this stars promo between 3.50 and 7$ stts 9 - 180 mans and have had some decent results. Couple days ago I managed $410 profit for around 100 games at this stake at over 100% roi which is obv the high end of decent variance...but do you guys think this is unsustainable because of a) run good and b) more fish due to the promo?

My alias is Horrrrrrny. I am considering playing a lot more stts, however Im not sure if my stats over >2k hands are unsustainable. Is this sample size reasonable to make assumptions? 18% roi seems fairly decent to me with abi of $12? I play 10-15 games at once and have managed 2 gold tables so far. I bubbled a $7 9 man and won a $7 18 man which netted me $107.

Thanks in advance for any feedback! GL
I think 18% roi for my 9mans would be really high end and not sure on 18+ mans.

I'm looking at myself with 10% roi from $5-$30s and even that has room for improvement, however, I think 18% would be just about the top.

Thanks for reply's guys. regret$ - not wanting to make excuses but the downswing is largely down to playing quite a few turbos - which I have concluded I both suck at and seem to run bad at, even though I think my shove/fold ranges are fairly solid.

Dochrohan - I agree, but fyi my usual game mix (last few sessions at least) consists mainly of (guess work here) 35% 27 mans 25% 18 mans, 20% 45 mans, and the final 20% of games are 9 mans and the odd 180 man. Prior to this I was playing mostly 9 mans, likely 75%.

The way I am thinking right now is if I could possibly average £2 profit a game and play 15 games an hour then obviously the hourly seems ok (and could be maximised with more volume perhaps) should I be prepared to grind it big time.

I would like to know how my hourly would be impacted by both moving up to the $15 games, and perhaps increasing volume with experience. There are still a LOT of spots in my game I feel I can improve, and I have just started watching CR videos to try and improve my stt game, and I am for the most part playing a mtt style game. I have never r/f 11bb for example in my life but it seems like this is part of my game I need to work on the most! Also 20bb spots in blinds say versus aggro openers with the mid part of my range like 66/aj/at for example. Any CR pros you guys would suggest? Machtisonni's videos are highly entertaining, and I love watching Finnish aggro's playing, being a euro nit myself!

It does provide some value that for sure we know that the RB percentage is between 2,5 and 30% . Also good to hear PS is happy with the promo and we'll see it again.

Hi new1home,

Thanks for posting, but this isn't the thread for your questions. Regs thread is an ongoing discussion on various topics amongst SNG regulars. Not a place to be asking 'new/novice questions to regs, there are other threads and areas of the forum to do that. As it's been addressed won't take it down in this instance, but please do take note for future queries. Thanks!

Wonder if any of you guys can help me.

I am trying to work out the profitability of 4 bet shoving a certain hand to a min (or very small) 3 bet versus peeling that 3 bet and then shoving over c bet at shallow (ish) stack depths (20-25bb).

Working out the 4 bet shove is pretty simple, but whether to peel and shove over a c bet (assuming a very high c bet % and a relatively wide range) is trickier as we will want a certain amount of equity to show a profit on jamming a c bet.

Is there a tool anywhere that can either do this completely for me, or tell me how often my hand say JTs for example will flop enough equity to jam a c bet and show a profit.

Working out the boards I have good equity on isn't too tricky or we can at least get a reasonable gut feel for it. It's just how often I will see those boards as if it’s not often enough then we lose our investment on peeling and also the open actually and jamming or folding becomes better.

The other useful thing could be where we don’t actually have too much fold equity in 4 bet shoving or it’s -eV to do so. Peeling and jamming c bets will actually make us breakeven or better for the hand which is preferable to folding to the 3 bet.

Hope that all makes sense in regards to what I am looking for! Any help pointers would be really appreciated

Not really sure, but I think "Cardrunners ev" can do this

Yeah cardrunners ev would be able to do that afaik. For a more basic look at it I think you could just download flopzilla and get a rough count on how often your flopping whatever you consider good enough to go with and give rough estimates on equities of his call range or w/e

Yeah cheers guys thats what I have been doing with regards to flopzilla

But you can obv only run one flop at a time and really wanted to get a feel for on average we expect to flop x amount of equity etc.

Seems card runners ev might be the way to go I will check it out

Thx again

Have been away from Stars for quite a while. Can anyone tell me a good alternative for TN1?
