edit to add that HU is an awesomely profitable game for anyone that can exercise tilt control and not be too proud to quit a decent opponent. Personally I find myself wasting a lot of time with opponents that I'm marginally positive to neutral ev against just because I'm too proud to quit someone that isn't really better than me. Plus I tilt like a sonofabitch, so yeah, theres better games out there for me...
Happy to hear you've found your niche though.
yah HU is just so profitable im really pleased with the kind of money im making, and expect to make over the next 3 yrs before I retire from poker....i am very curious why you guys still play sng on a serious level because it has been probably the least profitable form of poker over the past 3 years according to lots of top poker players. i thought that profits had almost entirely dried up as everyone had learned the mechnical rules of the structure. Am I wrong to assume that it is less profitable?

I suck at poker and am a sick luckbox.
me too. i'm like 100buyins above expectation for my last 1k games lol.
But haven't seen someone having negative luck over a >500 sample so far, maybe Roy has a little flaw in his calculations.

It's less profitable, but many of us have gotten good enough at multi tabling that we can turn an 8-10% ROI at the mid levels into an hourly rate of $35-50 or more.

While that's certainly not as much as the better cash game and MTT'ers make, it's still a decent living.

Whip me baby, harder you biatch, harder!

Blackize is right about national borders being the barrier to equalisation, there is still an enormous barrier to the free movement of labour, but the barriers to the locations of many businesses have collapsed. And when the workers of China and Peru can use the same technology as US workers, they can be almost as productive, so given their lower cost base, they can produce products of equal quality at a much lower price. For many businesses, the choice is simple - compete with low wage/low cost countries or get out of the business. I own a chinese motorbike - it cost me $630 and is excellent, albeit technologically equivalent to a bike from the 1980s, which means I can repair it myself! At the moment chinese cars and motorbikes are like the Japanese products of the 1960s. We used to use the term Jap Crap. But already China has invested in intellectual property and technology to improve their quality so that soon they will produce vehicles designed by Europeans and Americans, built to the standards of the Japanese, and assembled at chinese labour costs. GM/Chrysler et al have no hope of competing, they have lost their competitive advantage, and will need a new technological leap to regain it. Autoworkers in the US are going to face a brutal future.

Ain't that the truth.

I took my VIP level off display on Stars. And now whenever I piss off a bronze/silver star fish they berate me by saying I'm not good enough to make VIP

Only half of this is 25nl, the rest is 10nl. I can get the same standard of living out of this income in Peru, as you do for $3k in the US.

I've got 2.3k games and my ROI is over double what it should be apparantly, and that is a ridiculously low 6% to start.
So tilted.

Same here. My actual ROI = 2x adjusted ROI. weird.

(only a link, so noone who does not want to see it gets offended by my run good)
But i think its quite fitting for me - and even the adjusted one is a bit above my own expectation.

I'm making about 70/hr with fpps over a significant sample at the 16s. I table select well and obviously play pretty decent. There are plenty of people who make better money at higher levels. 18/27 man and more can be very profitable as well. There's lots of good money at SNGs.

I don't factor in FPP's, but I'm not even Supernova so I'm sure it doesn't factor in.

How many tables are you playing to make 70 an hour at 16s? Geez. I 12 table in sets at about a 9% ROI which is about $40 an hour.
