It is also trying to wrap things up because this is the last season. You can't just keep adding story strands till your heart is content if you want your viewers to have a sense of closure when the show ends.

Which is where Lost is awesome. There actually have been a lot of new, yet subtle story/questions that will need answering but not opened in a way to confuse the general viewer.

Re: *** Official STTf February kakkendaaliluukku Thread - No lame BBV ***

So, I was here awhile ago venting about how I was down a few hundred over a very small sample size at the 90 man $11 over at FTP. Well, since then I have managed to acquire an 11% ROI over a slightly bigger (but still relatively very small) sample size of just over 3500 of these.

I have now looked over the DON SnGs on Stars, and have read over the FAQ, but have not seen anything specifically referring to these tourneys and ROI. I don't want to go about tarding up the DON thread, so I guess I'll pose my questions here:

Is the expected ROI for $10.40 DON lower than an $11 90/180 man SnG?

Where a very good player would expect somewhere between a 10-15% ROI at the $11 SnGs, should that same player expect something closer to a 8-12% ROI at the $10.40 SnGs?

How dramatic is the dropoff between the 10.40 turbos and the 104 turbos? For example, would a 3-5% ROI at the 104 turbos be considered very good?

Yes, 5 percent at high stakes is considered solid.

Your ROI in 180 mans should be considerably higher than yours in the DONs.

Re: *** Official STTf February kakkendaaliluukku Thread - No lame BBV ***

So, I applied to be a blog/beat writer for this new website called YouthNoise, a Nike sponsored site about bringing social change through sports, and they asked me to write a sample blog post before bringing me in.

It has to be about "sports/fitness/athletics-related program, event or current topic in your city (Miami, NYC, Chi-town or L.A.) related to women in sport that promotes social change or improves communities."

And I have to write it, with pictures/video, by Monday. I'm planning to write about a local yoga group my friend goes to. Mainly about how yoga class can be a good way for women to get together, meet, become fit, etc. How's this sound? One of my friends (a female) said it's condescending. I still don't really get how it would be. Would it be offensive to women to compare yoga to something like football? Just in the sense that it's a way that people can get together and bond over something and still include fitness.

Thoughts? Also, thoughts on how your wives/girlfriends would respond?

I think saying it is something that only women do is what she feels is condescending. Every girl who has talked about yoga with me has tried to convince me to go and that it is 'way harder than guys think' and will assume you are taking the yoga is an easier version of things guys do to bond angle.

That might be it, see I've never done yoga, or really ever seen yoga before, it was just the first thing I could think of on short notice that dealt with women, fitness, and NY. I just dont want it to be condescending.

If poker were a physical entity I'd punch it in the face right now. That's how much I hate you poker.

Oh and I still have to pay my poker taxes.

PS I hate moving. I have to fit all of my belongings into a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, and I'm an awful packer.

Blog post = over. I need a blog like Sippin, but nobody would read it

Yeah that's what I should have been doing from the start. I did it with my freelance money but wasn't paying attention for poker. I didn't start playing professionally until like september so before that I was still looking at it as just play around with money because I'm a life donk.

I've been paying quarterly's most years since 1990. If you continue to play as a pro you are supposed to be paying quarterly as well. This is the most important bill you need to pay imo.

Here is what you should do imo: Set up a separate savings account. When you cash out, take X% out and stick it in that account. Never touch the money in that account until you need it for taxes. Get a savings account that pays significant interest. I use ING and am currently getting something like 2.5 or 3%, but there might be better ones out there if you do some research.

Also, I would set aside enough to fund a SEP IRA. You can put up to 20% of your net income into one and that money will not be taxed. I stick about 40% of my gross pay into my tax account every time I get paid and that works out about right for my taxes + SEP. You might want to use a tax advisor to figure out how to do this best going forward.

That's Some good advice cha,

A few n00b questions since you seem to be informed. I got get on top of this stuff asap.

Do you just deposit into your SEP fund right before you give your cpa your taxes? Also, How exactly does the fund work? Is it just an interest bearing savings account that you don't have access to until you retire? What if you need the money? Are you filed as a Professional gambler or just self employed(where is the cut-off?)

Thanks for your input

Talk to a financial guy about a SEP. I have mine in mutual funds, but I think you can put them into savings accounts if you want - I'm not sure. You can add to the SEP during the year if you want, but I usually just leave it in the ING account, then pay for the SEP in April once my tax guy figures out how much I should put into it. I'm self employed. I am pretty sure if you are a professional gambler, you too are self employed, but you would want to confirm that with a tax advisor.

I cant offer any meaningful advice about filing as a pro, aside from saying this - Get a good professional CPA, not H & R Block or some **** like that. The money you spend for this person's advice is well worth it.

I loved New Orleans when I visited it back in December. You'd have to be insane to visit there during Mardi Gras. Of course, if you can deal with crowds I'm sure you'd have a good time.

write about these trapeze classes that seem to be the rage with the ladies right now. one example: http://www.trapezeschool.com/default.php

or you could even talk about pole dancing classes. i feel like yoga might be to everyday for your entry to stand out in the employer's eyes
