Longy,
I don't feel like writing in paragraphs so a couple scattered thoughts.

- Colleges were developed before pro leagues. Untill pro leagues started offering competitive salaries college had more talented players than pros in a lot of sports (specifically football)

- Pro leagues can't possibly cover the whole US, lots of places don't have natural home pro teams, but they have natural home college teams that they can root for. This doesn't happen in Europe since it is much more densely populated.

- Propsects getting drafted instead of getting purchased gives fans a greater incentive to watch top prospects competing against each other.

-I think a lot of the amateur sportstuff, is BS. I love college football and college basketball, but the level of play in the NFL/NBA is much higher, the athletes are better, they are more skilled, etc. Players in the NBA/NFL have better fundamentals and if they didn't owners would be ******ed for not hiring coaches that would teach very basic fundamental skills for the sport.

Velocity,
Big Ten basketball is slightly better than WNBA basketball.

Also i was REALLY pumped to watch celtics/nuggets tonight and even considered betting $100 on the nuggets for a sweat - I like billups / carmelo and hate Boston - seriously can a town run better in sports? Sadly it was a blowout and never close, brag I didnt lose a hundo.

If anyone can link me to somewherre (pm me or aim or w/e) with a step by step of how to make those HEM graphs, I would really appreciate it

on sports, other than car racing which I still follow, the only sporting event I watch and get excited about watching is the Little League World Series each year. I watch probably half the games, and almost all the bracketed games. Those are pure drama. I'll take those kids over high priced bitching drama queens or future wanna be hpbq's any day.

(I'm sure most pro athletes are nice boring guys we never hear about, so that part is kidding. I'd still rather watch the kids though.)

Peru,
You played that hand basically perfectly. Just because he had a set doesn't make your line bad.

Re: College sports
People who say CBB>>>>>>>> NBA tilt me to no end. I feel like they have never watched an NBA game. CBB is fun to watch and they have great crowds and there is a lot of drama but the level of play is so low(relatively). The NBA is a fluid, exciting, fast paced game where teams rarely fail to execute. CBB is a slow half court game, where players frequently **** up simple stuff. I still enjoy CBB but I can only watch so much without just flipping over to the big boys.

************mylife. 2 tabling 2/4 vs fish and huge huge spewing ****** 3betting 55% fish. Vs spewy fish we get in for 100bbs, his QJ trucks AQ, as the pot is being pushed, my internet freezes for a split second. Screen is stuck showing him winning the pot. Other table is going fine. By the time I figure out how to refresh the table, huge fish is gone and I lose a big pot on the other table.

Have to go get some recently darkened mole checked today. rly hope i run good there

What exactly do you mean by "make" those graphs?
Step-by-Step how to setup HEM, import Hands and get the graphs with adjusted luck?

Spoiler:

jesus **** my life. this has been 2 months of constantly running below expectation.
by v.v. conservative estimates i have run at least 6% percentage points below true winrate, i am about 190 or so buyins below in all-in luck, this is over 3.5k tournaments. i have been a professional gambler for over 6 years, played tens of thousands of sngs, hundreds of thousands of cash, over a million dollars wagered in blackjack, i thought i'd seen it all (i thought my -4.2 standard deviations at BJ was gonna be the best) but good christ i dont know what to do right know hell ****, every day it's -10 buyins (and +5 or so luck-adjusted), i've tried everything - taking days off, study, serious grind, more tables, less tables, different times of day, clearer head, doesnt stop you running like ass holy hell i'm close to calling it quits right now

Good luck Bones. Best to check these things out early. Last week, I had 8 pre-cancerous spots (yeah, EIGHT) burnt off of my face. Looked like a dalmation for a while.... But it's all good if caught early, so no worries man.

p.s. And HOOD.. Where did you get my graph????
02-24-2009 , 12:57 PM
I have a couple moles that aren't symmetrical...because they'll like in the creases of me skin when I sit.

I can't tell if that means they're cancerous or just showed up in an awkward place. But my health insurance sucks so I can't go in just for every strange mole.

Maybe I should go to Bones' doctor and pretend to be him?
02-24-2009 , 01:06 PM
I have some weird thing on my chest close to my armpit. I went to the dermatologist because I also had a wart about 2 inches below it. Dermatologist said it's probably nothing. Only bad thing it could be is some ultra-rare form of sarcoma. But I can get a biopsy if I want.

It's Saturday so for some reason that means they can't tell if they take my insurance or not. Receptionist says you should have told us you had insurance. I say I did tell you you said no problem. ... Which means I have to pay and they will reimburse me if they take my insurance. I elect to skip the $250 biopsy and just keep an eye on it. Also knowing that was my last week of work.

Now it seems to be fading a little but I'm pretty sure I have sarcoma just because that's the effed up sequence of events that usually happens when these things play out. "If only you had come in 3 months earlier..."

Of course now I have no insurance so if I pay and find out it's sarcoma then I have a pre-existing condition. But if I get insurance and then immediately run in and get this looked at, and it turns out to be something serious, that's cherry picking and they will probably investigate.

Fun.

I wonder if he carries around a blackboard IRL that says, "LOL! -EV, -EV!!!"
