how the hell am i supposed to get better at fifa09?

i just got the game after never having really played soccer games before. i beat rookie and amateur pretty easily, cant beat the next skill level. i lose online like 10-0 everytime at least, and i've never seen someone not play as ManU

the opening screen is pretty usless for trying to get better. how the eff do people get so good? are there fifa coaches?

Play the game for fun. I never understood why people play games like Madden thousands of hours just to get a better ranking. When you have a game(poker) that pays you to get better that's the type of game you want a coach for.

Put the skill level to world class and just play non stop for 3 or 4 days, eventually you will stop getting beat by so many goals.

The game is most fun when you destroy another person in the game of football.

I trust the mods will forgive this "spam" for a PokerStars event. As some of you know, before moving to Sydney to work with PokerStars, I used to live in an Australian town called Wangaratta, which is just near the recent bushfires that have destroyed a number of towns and killed hundreds of people.

PokerStars is running a tournament to raise funds for the victims of the bushfire - to help rebuild the towns and lives damaged by the fire. It is tournament #141744975 (Tourney tab -> Special -> 'Australian Bushfire Appeal'). It is going to run at 10.30pm, PokerStars Server time on Feb 21 (2.30pm Australian time, on Sunday).

The entry fee to the tournament includes a $10 donation, which PokerStars will match dollar for dollar. It'd be nice to see folks take part in this if you'd like.

If you don't want to play, you're able to make donations via credit card online directly at www.redcross.org.au

hey josem, any way you can set up one where we buy in, it never runs and stars just matches the whole fee? I have no desire to play the mtt, so I'd rather the whole $20 went to the cause.

In a broader sense, this is an excellent idea. PS could have a charity of the month, and run a trny first sunday of the month. List 2 trny's under the events tab, one for donations only, and one to be played. Selfishly thinking of the PR advantages and generally getting people to feel less that we're all a bunch of degenerate gamblers, instead we're a bunch of degenerate gamblers with a conscience!

they did several mtt's and several of the buyin but no mtt things at different prices after the tsuname mess also. I donno if they could do a monthly thing with matching. It's probably better as a spacific event sort of thing.

It would definately work with like half the prize pool and all the fee donated though. That wouldn't be much of a burden on stars or the players.

well i like to be competitive and have a challenge. and when im either winning 8-0 or losing 8-0 the fun stops really fast. i wouldnt mind losing 3-2

Well the halt on was not put. BUT I did dish out some surreal beats of my own. So I can live with that.

other day i had got HU on my last 4 tables. I went out of the first 3, each one i was all-in as either a 60/40 or 70/30 fav. Final table I won, and the opp was down to like 100 chips. Then he went on a succession of all-ins, like 4, and we were back even, each one i was the favourite. We were equal stacks. Then i said out loud "lol i bet this time I get dealt AA, shove, he calls with trash, then flops like 2 pair.". Then I get dealt AA, shove, get called with T8o, and the flop comes T84 and it holds up.

Was pretty surreal.

anyway anyone think Wiz hud would be useful? it's all in AHK, it runs on the HEM database. works pretty neat right now, auto sets the stats overlays as you move thru hands. just wondering what stats would be useful - i guess like blind steal stats, flat call open maybe? thoughts?

No, it would be the worst thread in 2p2 history and there has been plenty of competition for that honour over the years.

A bunch of sng players whining about beats would be awful, it is part of the game with so many showdowns.

What I actually would like to see is a BRAG thread. Reserved for solid brags.
