It's the economy, stupid.

Speaking of the economy and Stars, these recent 200K+ days are relatively new and unprecedented right?

PartyPoker continues to be such a ****ing joke. I called to see if they could offer me a deposit bonus, the rep agreed to a 50% bonus w/ 15 days to clear, but I had to make a deposit right then in order for him to do so. AFTER I deposit, he politely informs me "Ops, we already gave you this bonus in September, but I can offer you 20%" at which point I freak out, and then he comes back and says "Ok sir, I can offer you 50% w/ 7 days to clear", at which point I freak out even more and it wasn't until I demanded he honour our original arrangement that he did so.

I mean, he repeatedly kept making the argument "but we already gave you that bonus" as though it were my responsibility to know that before he offered it to me a second time which prompted me to deposit.

The incompetence/shammery of it all is mindblowing.

You can just request bonuses with no deposit requirement.

Nice flop! Devin I had no funds on there so requesting a deposit bonus was the only thing that made sense. I would've deposited anyway, it's just the principal of the thing. I wonder how often that scam is perpetrated at the Party call-center, and I wonder how many people who don't get the difference between 7 days to clear and 15 days to clear get suckered by it.
02-17-2009 , 02:03 PM
Wait Party is just handing out bonuses like they're candy?

I think I missed something.

What they did certainly is not a scam. You're lucky they bend over for the customers that bitch them out.

Is this a level?

I was very polite over the phone up until they changed the terms of the deposit bonus. Even though I was going to deposit anyway, I didn't tell the rep that, and I told him I was considering making a deposit if they could offer me a bonus. He tells me what bonus he's going to give me, then tells me I need to deposit before he can activate it, then almost immediately AFTER I deposit he tries to get me to accept a grossly inferior bonus not once, but twice!

I don't know what bizzarro world you're living in where that's acceptable practice but I'm glad I'm not living in it.

No level. The guy probably assumed you hadn't gotten the earlier bonus. Yeah, it's a little shady he made you deposit and then told you but I REALLY doubt he did it on purpose or Party tells their reps to do that. Then, he correctly offers you the bonus albeit with a shorter time period to clear. A very reasonable compromise, imo. You scoff at it. There's a lot of reason to bitch at party but giving away free money isn't one of them.
02-17-2009 , 03:21 PM
We'll agree to disagree on this and I'm open to being corrected here if I'm out of line, but I don't think I am as of right now .

I want to edit for this at least. The 7 day offer was hardly a compromise. The bonus isn't released incrementally, and it would've been virtually impossible for me to clear it in 7 days.

I'ma have to side with towelie on this one DD. After agreeing on the bonus if he makes an deposite right then over the phone, THEN trying to change it after, that sucks. Weither it's party policy to scam or the rep just screwed up, either way the rep should have just done what was agreed too before the deposit without being forced.

I'm assuming most transactions can be canceled. Pretty sure Towlie could've said "hey, you bait and switched me, please cancel my transaction". If that's not the case, then yeah party ****ed up.

mmmm, party poker bonus'

small sample etc. but going through my last 2 days of play 3102 hands, I've flopped exactly 4 sets, which sucks obv.

Using the 8.5:1 set formula to be conservative, I'm behind 362 flopped sets imo. 3102 x .118 = 366

I sees a heater comin'
02-17-2009 , 04:12 PM
I'm also running ~2 buyins below exp, but who's counting, heater comin' imo.
02-17-2009 , 04:14 PM
check that, not a heater, a "equity alignment" in my favor. there.
02-17-2009 , 04:17 PM
you sure you worked that out right? you played 3102 hands total in 2 days right? you need a pocket pair in order to flop a set and you need to see a flop too
02-17-2009 , 04:20 PM
fak

gotta do it again. wtf was I doing? I'm still due, even if ******ed.
02-17-2009 , 04:30 PM
Haha, it would be pretty sick to flop 366 sets in 3102 hands.
02-17-2009 , 04:40 PM
i had 4 injections today for a trip to cambodia/nam. i hate injections but i'm now somewhat immune to hep a, hep b, typhoid, polio, tetanus, diptheria. anyone ever been to cambodia/nam? is it nice?
02-17-2009 , 04:45 PM
out of the 4175 hands i played during the 25th B promo on stars i had 253 pairs and flopped 25 sets. running above expectation imo
