So last night skipper asked if I might finish an $11 MTT for him because it was his bedtime. Of course I told him no, this is against some kind of nitty ethical rule and someone might get their panties in a bunch. Thank goodness. Because if I had finished the game for skipper, I might have restolen Q4o with 11BB from the SB vs. Mr. always-raises-every-CO-button-SB-and-stole-my-blinds-like-7-times-in-a-row. Luckily this was just all a dream because if it wasn't the BB would have woken up with QQ. And since skipper hasn't spoken to me all day, I must conclude it was a dream.

I highly recommend that everyone get at least a minimal battery backup.

For around $50 you can get one that will run your computer and monitor for about 5-10 minutes.

That might not seem like much time, but in reality most power failures are nowhere near that long. In my personal experience, about 99% of all power related issues lest less than 5 seconds, but the subsequent reboot can easily make it a couple minutes that you are blinding off.

If the power really does go off and stay off, that battery power should be enough to last while you frantically call other STTFers to find someone to take over.

I have a friend that lives 3 blocks away. I've had to drive over to her house on several occasions with my laptop when the power went out on my block, or my stupid neighbor was trying to steal my DSL and killed the internet when I was deep in two tourneys.

Anyone who thinks Burn After Reading was anything better than horrible is a moron and should be shot on sight. My roommate thinks it was hilarious and I really want to slap him for recommending it but I'm going to let it slide one time.

This is a good story, and a coincidence because i came here to post that at tonights AMAZING raps game I told Todd (snoop todd) that I have been having a ton of poker dreams this week. His response 'i finished 2nd heads up in an ept lastnight for 1.6 million'

Also +1 to backup internet / battery / laptop. The nice thing about power failures while playing on a laptop is you have the laptops battery reserve to save you

Gahh, not happy with my play. Had to go to my gym after busting to work off some of the stress. I think posting that i'm at a FT = doomswitch.

If I was so stupid as to violate the "T&C's" and if I was so pwned that Irieguy, Zen, Pineapple, Bones, Slacker, et.al. weren't avail for takeover (and so unlucky that you were) and then, in this dream, I returned to computer to finish my tea while I railed you for 5 minutes and, thusly, watched in amazement while you passed up 5 clear "ATC" resteal opportunitiesDo you dream that I would compond my error by an attempt at communication
02-12-2009 , 07:08 AM
Lol did you look at the HH? The only legitimate resteal spot vs. that dude was the orbit before when I pretty much said I was going to resteal ATC if he raised my BB from his SB. I look down at 32o. I still came a hair from shoving but I wanted to be responsible with your chips. In my dream I mean.

thanks for posting this. It's always nice to know when someones taste are so horrib.....er, I mean, are so different from mine that I can disregard their future recommendations.

At least we know where we stand

I also just watched slumdog. I liked it, certainly worth watching, but I don't really understand the level of hype it's getting. It must be a pretty dry award field this year.

Lacky,
Firstly, <3.
Secondly, exactly what part of this movie was funny?
I laughed in like two scenes tops.

Also, trying to resolve a small argument.

person (a). is playing NL50 and is in a pot where after the villain shoves the pot is $60, and the call for person (a). would be $26.
Person (a). implies to person (b). that he is seriously considering folding - person (b). says he thinks (a). should call and he'll go half on the call ($13).
Person (a). agrees, calls, and wins the pot.

How much money does person (b). get?

I need to probably watch it again but Burn After Reading is pretty far down on my favorite Coen brothers movies. When I watched it, I was wondering how many people liked it just because the Coen brothers did it.

I don't even know who the Coen brothers are, so that's probably one reason why I didn't like it

Also, re; my question.
02-12-2009 , 08:35 AM
yeah it was clever, and I wasn't going to stop watching it until it was over. Personally , I wouldn't watch it again or recommend it to anybody it.

It would probably be a much better book than movie. (obv most books>>>>>movies but I could really see this one being much better)

give him $26 siq, just a guess....

I thought most of it was amusing, not lol but fun, but the wrap up at the end in the office was really, really funny. I am a person that some of the really silly comedies doesn't really do much for though. I definately like witty subtle comedy more. The really silly comedies that everyone likes, about half of them I like, and about half of them my wife thinks are hilarios and I'm waiting for it to end thinking how stupid it is.

the question, if b took half the action on that portion of the hand, he should take half the win or lose. so b should get $13. If this was live b would also get his ass kicked for interfearing in the hand.

I didn't know it was till theirs till the end. it was probably in the intro, but we got there right at the start and were still sitting down during that. even after I knew, I often get them and the farrely brothers confused and probably couldnt name their films except for fargo, which i don't really remember much of.
