is http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/ generally as reliable as sharkscope for looking up opponents? looking for a free alternative that doesnt have a max # of searches per day

Pretty solid plan, imo. Let's hope all the racist hicks scheme just as brilliantly.
this plan sounds 1000 times more thought out than any other hick plan ive ever heard

sometimes its accurate and sometimes its awfully off. Found players who were -10% losers @ OPR over a decent sample (3k games or so), but it turned out they are like 6% winners on sharkscope over 7k games.

atm i look the players up at OPR and check whether their sample is significant enough (~1k+) to scope them. This way i don't waste my searches on players who played like 70 sngs or so.

opr doesn't track 18 mans and below

I'd play even if i had to take a poo bowl with me!
$5k and $10k is a lot of money and one game at this point is massive.

that's happened to everyone, weither it's computer, power or internet. the only cure for it is a backup laptop plugged in, charged, ready to go with a cellular wireless internet card for backup internet.

I use a laptop anyway for travel, and realized alone time ago that one outage a year pays for backup internet, so having this setup on standby makes sense.

The game that Monday night in November was high-stakes "beer pong," a drinking game in which players lob Ping-Pong balls into plastic cups.
Michael Phelps was betting big -- and losing.
"I saw Phelps pull out a roll, a bank-wrapped $2,000," said Michael Whitworth, who had been invited to a house near Five Points after his band played a show at 5 Points Pub (now Sudworks Taphouse).
"He said, 'I'll match the $2,000,' " Whitworth continued, referring to Phelps. "Good ol' Phelpsie lost it too."
And, as for the picture:
The photo that got Phelps, 23, in trouble could have been taken by any of the dozens of partyers at the house that night -- or on other nights when Phelps was in Columbia the first week of November.
The story notes that those who attended the party were asked on entering the house to respect Phelps' privacy and not take photographs.

Dude should just go pro in poker too, bink any live final table and be the most famous person in poker. I mean if he's cool as **** as well as a phenomenal athlete he could be hudge.

it's pretty sad the kid cant even go to a party without catching crap. I'll bet he could get the sickest stars backing deal ever.

Also, today I had a couple of employees working on one project while I worked on another. When I got to their site they had done very little work and what they had done had to be redone. sigh.

Anyone want a job?
Hell, if you weren't in LA I'd help you a few times a month for free. it sounds kinda fun.

Is it piss-poor etiquette to play anyway, even though I may be sneezing and blowing my nose every 15-20 mins or so? It's prob obv I'm not feeling well - reddish nose and slightly hoarse. I'm 3rd in points, so one game is pretty significant...
Would you play the $10k event if you had a cold? then you should play this too.

You're not going as a friend you're going to take their money. Always draw the line
02-11-2009 , 06:46 PM
be upfront about it. tell them you will be play sick, but would be happy to postpone if they prefer. or, offer to sit if you get "free"points for sitting out that will keep you in 3rd.

Tell them for $10K you'll stay home.

I played the pca 10k and the 1k with a cold... yeh it's not great running from the table to wash hands/blow nose but if u have to u have to
02-11-2009 , 07:26 PM
Is there a way I can import all of my previously played tournaments on Stars into HEM like via e-mail or something?

They're never going to postpone coz one guy's sick. It's not like its a HU game or something.

Free points is equally a non starter. Never gonna happen.

Just tough it out, stand up from the table when you need to blow your nose, and try not to use the same tissue twice.

The US has looked sloppy on defense in this qualifier. Their pressure is great though, just a couple eff ups because of the weather.

Beasley is a beast and Dempsey is sooo smooth.

USA!!!

USA 2 - Mexico 0 JUST LIKE IT SHOULD BE

Bradley had both goals. First was a volley from 2 feet out on a ball bouncing around after a corner. Second was from maybe 25 yards out, he got a step and let it rip. Keeper definitely should have had it, but it dipped at the last second and the field was wet so it got through.

yay was in the 300r 6m ftops for 2100 to have less than the min at break, and then got slowrolled by AK preflop to lose a race and bust 1hr 30min in

I honestly wonder why i still play mtts sometimes, its been ages since i actually won anything worth mentioning

Since I've started playing less than 5 a month I've been a much happier person. MTT's are for those that love being manic/depressed.
02-11-2009 , 11:53 PM
Even when you win money playing big MTTs they almost always end in frustration. Except for that 1 time out of 1000 or so that you actually win.
02-12-2009 , 12:13 AM
I think I've won over 20 MTTs and never finished second. None for huge money. But still that's probably the luckiest aspect of my poker career. Also this includes 90-mans.
