Huh, good point. I've never dated a violently psychotic girl, only mentally psychotic. I'm not sure I've picked the right option...

I didn't empathize with any of the characters and the only thing I really found compelling was how they showcased the Indian lower middle class. It is going to win Best Picture, but it really shouldn't and I think years from now people will think how the **** did Slumdog Millionare win best picture.
I think this is the best way to describe Slumdog. It's really good, but it's not going to be remembered in 20 years, or even 5 for that matter. It did some exciting things with story structure and a simple story. It really just shows how weak a movie year it was. I thought last year was a really weak year, but at least last year had There Will Be Blood and No Country, two movies that were real hearty movies. This year is just a lot of, eh movies.

rupert, or you guys can just move to LA and hang out in the e-club culture, where everyone makes out with everyone (except guy on guy, that's gross).

Yeah the problem is it will probably take them 10 years to hammer out all the standards, regulations, how much it will be taxed, who will oversee it, etc. then market it up to the point where people actually use it. Even if the world isn't totally bored by poker by then, I'll be an old man. Plus I'm pretty sure the last thing Harrah's want to see is any of their whales getting into poker in any form. Let's see we can have 8% of your action, or take all your money 4 out of 5 sessions.

Yeah, based on the nominations this was a pretty weak year. Benjamin Button pretty lousy. (looking at other categories - Wall-E and TDK were much better than Buttons)

Slumdog was a solid nomination worthy movie though. Not like the greatest movie evar, but good story, I liked the characters, very well filmed, good music, well paced. From what people say Milk was probably the best movie of the year, but I didn't see it.

but forest gump won so many awards, shouldnt that mean benjamin button does too?

im no math major or anything, but if a=b and b=c then button=forest gump

True dat, but I didn't really like Forrest Gump either.

I dont understand your call of 6025 and not jamming?
02-08-2009 , 06:53 PM
well, with the massive overshove already there, I thought if I reshoved I was probably only getting called if he somehow had a set (which was really unlikely). I thought he would squeeze with worse hands than he would call a reshove with. I was still pretty shocked when he shipped it in though.
02-08-2009 , 07:08 PM
Ok that figures. I just think since standard is normally so bad I would ship it in and presume they would call everything they would squeeze with.
Because if they do flat which is lolbad, there are so many draws there I'd be in no mans land on turn.

Still ul

I'm not entirely sure if Lacky's Line is optimal but I do like his reasoning and this is def >> shove over. Shoving over would be kinda bad for those reasons, these 100bb+ MTT situations are much different form the convential lolshoveamentsanddon'tthinkaboutit that happen all the time at SNGs. Anyway with how bad the milli plays this can't be that bad.

if u are taking out your gf to olive garden and proposing to her, she is probably saying no

he probably hid the ring in some of the unlimited breadsticks or salad

well i broke up with her but she came round later while i was starting mtt session and basically begged forgiveness. she said she loved me like she meant it that shes never going to drink again (it wasn't hyperbolic) etc etc etc. i said i'd think about it but gave the impression that i would get together. what a weird day.

ft'd 2 mtts tho...

on another note, i'm vice pres of my university poker soc, we're kind of a big deal in england :P and we have around £1500 to spent. we already have some brand new copags, decent enough chips, decent enough felts... any ideas? rules: no food or drink, no "donation" to outside organization/individual...

freerole ftw ? and omg ditch that bitch, ****ing whore, i mean once was enough man, your a poker player, way to good for a cheating slut lol
02-08-2009 , 11:21 PM
did you get a university grant for a poker society?
02-08-2009 , 11:24 PM
Ya, Lacky, I saw Taken in Vegas with AMT and Durron . It was sooo good for what it was, an action movie.
You will get so pumped for it. Jay-dog, you would love it imo. It must be so much more awesome for someone with a daughter.
I wonder what GtrHtr thinks of it.
02-08-2009 , 11:25 PM
we get a grant of £100 which is for capital equipment (cards/felts basically), then we get £3 for every member that joins as well as carry over from last years money - we have £1900 in the account but we're giving away a monitor for TLB winner and spent money on various small things

If you don't trust her enough to get back together with her then just lead her on and get what you want out of her until you find a replacement.
02-08-2009 , 11:32 PM
i think you're all right, but i'm pretty sure i'm in love with this girl even if **** did go down, therefore i'm irrational.

everyone was really really really drunk, like i power-vommed at the end of the night, but of course that's not excuse

From personal experience Rupert, I've been in the same exact situation and it did not end well for me because I stuck around.
02-08-2009 , 11:46 PM
I'm looking forward to Taken. Kidnapped daughter is definitely going to be pushing some buttons with me.

I've also more or less gotten over the Christian Bale rant. My wife thought it was funny, but not a big deal cause most actors are crazy (heretofore I had thought only most actresses were crazy ). I've since found out that the Director's Guild got something put into their contracts called the Eastwood clause because Clint got into the habit of firing the director and replacing them with himself. If Clint can be a bit of a prima dona what can be expected from Christian? Honestly, I think Bale is at least as much crazy as he is a douchebag.

As if I really wasn't going to see Terminator IV.

This.
Done the love thing, she doesn't deserve it. Ya you will feel like **** for ages without her and it's more convenient to just stay with her but you need to make the break.
She is a lovable good hearted person I'm sure but she doesn't "love" you like you do and is a slut. Still a good person, just a typical woman ldo.

that's crazy rupert that they would sponsor it. our poker club lasted a few weeks and only ran charity tournament $5 buyins, pretty lame.
