Has anyone read this article (taken from sit-n-go planet) yet? Thoughts? I quite agree with the "sng squeeze" theory, feeling it lately...

I just watched "The Machinist" with Christian Bale and holy **** does he look starved to death. How he went from almost Olympian shape to "if you were any thinner you'd disappear" and then gain 100lbs then drop 40 lbs back to play Bruce Wayne... jesus.

He went from

back down to

then up 100lbs, then down 40 lbs in 6 months, which resulted in:

Surely can't be good for your body, no?

CQ,

that's why actors get paid a lot of money?

same thing with NFL players. you pretty much accept dying 25 years earlier than normal because you are good at this and get paid a few million to do it.

Those are some random 22s

Explanation for colorcode:
puple marker = winning player 7-10% ROI over at least 5k games (ie. sharks you want to avoid)
dark blue marker = winning player 7-10% ROI over at least 2k games.
blue marker = winning player 5-7% ROI over at least 1k games.
lightblue marker = winning player 2-5% ROI (1k+ games)
green marker = breakeven, slight losing or slight winning player -2% to +2% ROI (1k+ games)
red marker = reverse grinder with a ROI -3 to -10% over at least 1k games.
pink marker = reverse grinder with a ROI < -10% over a good samplesize (1k+ games)
no marker = unknown and/or sample too small.

So, just game select sure, the games got tougher, but its not like they are unbeatable. There are a lot of unknowns, clueless players and bad/breakeven regs etc. to keep a good and improving player profitable.

Oh, i think Lost needs some more story strands. It feels pretty one-dimensional atm. I mean, its not even a challenge to follow whats happening.

Jurasstoil you are just confusing me now, as i use roughly the same colour coding system as you in reverse, ie red are the good regs and purple are the complete spazz tards.

Though I don't go just on sample size, if someone does something totally ******ed in game they get a blue or a purple.

y, doing something super ******ed will instaearn someone a pink or red marker. Winners or losers can move up or down in the colorcodesystem if they deserve it.

Noob question...what program are you using to color code the table selections? Is that sharkscope, or software?
02-05-2009 , 11:07 AM
Its Full tilt software. I have urged Stars to add a feature like this in the Stars improvement thread
02-05-2009 , 11:07 AM
looks like it's just the full tilt software to me

you can't datamine and sharkscope is banned... soooooo, i guess this will never happen cuz stars seems to think "game selection = teh oultimatez ifilz" or something.

dave, yeah, it's just the full tilt software. It's a rare case, but sometimes they'll do something good before reverting back to ban people and confiscate their funds for using notepad.exe or a mouse while playing - or just because The Holy RNG said so.
02-05-2009 , 11:32 AM
well , even if you cant use sharkscope it would still be nice to be able to color code players on tables and in the lobby
02-05-2009 , 11:33 AM
Are you serious?! That's FT? Damn.

It's very, very tempting to go to FT just for that feature alone. However, they still won't give me RB for an account I created but never played with due to a mixup with an affiliate. If I'm not getting RB I still think Stars VIP rewards are better than FT...but still. That feature is so tempting.

since we're on teh subject... i know this is a serious noob q but i can't get my head around it or find a related post.

say i rake like 2k, 3k or 4k a month on stars, what rewards will i get? as a rough rakeback %. i realise it will increase over time... what would i get on month 1? month 6? after a year? etc. kthx

you mean you pay 2k in rake or you rake 2k VPPs?

2k$ rake/month is platinum (10k vpp), and once you reach 100k VPP you'll be supernova.
http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/tiers/

And here's a nice overview:
http://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/i...rstars-vip.php
02-05-2009 , 12:09 PM
yeah i mean 2k in rake paid in tourney fees

thanks for the link gonna go over it now. seems a lot depends on hitting supernova, seems doable but it's a 1 year committment, i need to get going now to hit in 2009

edit: so from that link fpp has a direct value of 0.016. 5 fpps per tourney = 8% rakeback, right?
but as i move i get some kind of multiplier - at plat (which seems doable in my first month) i get a 2.5x multiplier, so now i'm looking at like 25% rakeback? can these fpps be used to buy in normal tournies or just stuff like steps?

and then i've got bonuses etc... oh man i feel like such a noob

edit 2: right okay i think i've got it. so if i'm on plat i get 12.5 fpps per tourney $$. I can buy $650 bonuses in the shop for 40000 fpps: that is, $3200 paid in tourney fees gives me 650 in bonus. That's just over 20% rakeback. am i getting this right? and i can keep buying these bonuses whenever i get enough fpps and grind off the bonuses whilst still earning fpps, am i good so far? add on freerolls + getting on SN with milestones etc, this is looking pretty good deal compared to ft

It's fine for you body. Apparently it makes you a little grouchy.

The guy is OCD about acting and is really good at it. So what if yells at some idiot for doing something is considered really bad etiquette in the acting world.

Orange = good reg
Yellow = slight winner/unknown reg
Blue = bad reg
Purple = mouth breather

Red = complete aggrotard
Green = Massive station

red/green is used HU, the others STT

Also I love thirds third place in over 40% of your cashes is wonderful

Bale is one of my fav actors along with probably Edward Norton and Don Cheadle. I've read stuff about Bale before when it comes down to his dedication to roles - IE for American Psycho Bale would avoid the crew when not shooting so he could try to maintain character. Given that - it's no wonder he snaps on a guy for messing up his focus in the middle of a scene.

I disagree. I think we're just so spoiled by the amazing island story lines, that the one off island seems bland in comparison. Also, the next few eps should open things up in a lot of directions. Post in the Lost thread in OOT, there's some good discussion about some of the underlying story lines that have been hinted at but haven't been opened. There's actually some good stuff from last night.
