Hello all,
As mentioned in my most recent Q&A post, we are planning to expand the payouts in the MTT Sit&Gos. With this change we hope that more players will be encouraged to become repeat participants in these tourneys, thus creating a more sustainable player base.
Initially, we will just make changes to the 90 and 180 player tournaments, but we may change the 240s and 360s as well at a later stage as well.
From reading your posts, it seems that most players are ok with a change like this provided that the top three payouts stay as they are. We have kept that in mind when making these proposals, though for the 180s it was difficult since that payout structure is more top-heavy than for the 90s.
So I hope we can have a quick, to the point and fruitful discussion about this proposal. Sometime after the weekend, we will look at your suggestions and if we feel that someone has come up with ways of improving it, we will make changes accordingly. Regardless, I will return to you next week and inform you of the result of the process.
In this proposal, I have included examples of how the payouts will look for a $2.50 90 and a $15 180 player tournament. The rounding might be slightly different in some spots when implemented on the site, but not by more than a few cents either way.
Finally, I will just mention that I do not plan to address the question of whether or not we should make these changes. The decision has been made, so I will focus on posts that have input on the proposals below.
So here they are:
The 90s will payout 13 instead of 12 players. This will make it marginally easier to get in the money, but the main benefit is that the bubble will be more fair with two seven handed tables.
The 180s will pay one more table than is the case today. We chose to take something off the top because we felt that not doing that would make an already top-heavy structure even more so.
Thanks,
Baard
