I just want to say my personal goal is an OLED 4k TV as monitor, this site: http://rtings.com is great for analyzing a particular model as monitor.

Didn't think any TVs had high enough resolution to be used for poker.

The issues are usually input lag/response time, which that site addresses. You also want 4:4:4 chroma for 4k which may require a new video card.

Looking to buy a laptop for grinding - I've read some of the posts so I generally get the idea of what I should be getting(ssd etc) however I'm still a total noob in these things + I'm from Croatia(****face overpriced country in relation to average income regarding tech stuff) so if anyone would be able to help, I'd be grateful... I can give you the links of some of the better local stores in my area so maybe you can help me out... - I think this is important as this ****ty country also doesn't have all the equipment available + the guys in those tech stores are ******s who don't even know what 'online poker' is so I can't expect help from them either...

now I was planning to connect that laptop to my current monitor which I think is decent (samsung syncmaster 2232BW - if its not decent then say so now ) so I can have 2 screens.

my current desktop setup is total trash... HDD.... 4gb ram... need I go on? I get lags frequently, takes forever to load up everything - and I have like 90perc memory usage with 888 party and stars online

So yeah... any help would be greatly appreciated - if you guys want I can give links on PM.

My old TV went south so i can buy a new 32" TV or spend the money on two monitors or a 32" 1080p TV and then a 28" or so 1080p monitor

I have a 2048x1125 monitor which is a pain for poker because of its unusual resolution

I want to avoid 4K display because I think they are not very compatible with online poker across sites like 888 and party which are are pain on non-standard resolutions like with table sizing, moving tables from one monitor to the other, font size etc.

I want to avoid overly large displays because of eye pains and sleep issues; so "low blue light displays" are important to me

I like the option of spanning my entire windows interface which would be good for poker but I don't know is possible?

I would like a remote control for volume and turn it off when laying in bed!

My current GPU is the Asus GTX 460 so i may only be limited to two displays

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

just have to say, I think the chair you buy is maybe the most important piece of equipment you can invest in. Ive had a Herman Miller chair for 6-7 years now and it feels as good as it did on day 1. 1k for a chair seemed kinda crazy back in my early 20s but its been one of the best investments Ive made

Want to hookup a BenQ GW Series GW2765HT 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor to Lenovo yoga 2 laptop. This external monitor is a 2560x1440 QHD(WQHD) High Resolution and am having problems resoling the resolutions. In settings there is the recommended 3200x1800 res that the laptop has then the next setting is 2048x1536. I tried to go customize the 2560x1440 in the graphics control panel but no matter what refresh rate etc. i put it at it gives me the 'the custom resolution exceeds maximum bandwith capacity' error message. For the select display option on the left it only will let me select built in display if that makes a difference.
Would like to solve this perceived problem before I make the monitor purchase.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking of buying a 4K monitor but only using a 1080p cable for now until i upgrade my computer

Any ideas on how the display would look at its non-native resolution?

And over HDMI its only 24hrzs; any thoughts on this?

With Black Friday deals coming up, I am looking to buy two twin monitors.

I currently have a 21" and a 19". I thought two 24" would do the trick, but since the extra room seems to be horizontal, those won't offer any more height to the monitors.

I'm thinking about going with two 24 or 27 inch monitors but still unsure. Does anyone have experience grinding on monitors of this size? Would they do the trick, or would I be wanting larger monitors shortly after. I'd be mainly playing on Stars. I would likely play from 4 - 8 tables at a time.

Thanks for any input

I would personally NOT recommend "smaller" displays i.e. 24" because I want all the fonts, HUD stats etc to be nice and big especially on when playing on other sites

I would personally NOT recommend "large" displays i.e 32" which would be far too big

So that basically narrows you down to "Medium" displays i.e 27" or 28"

The best thing i can advise is to go into some shops and have a look at how big 27" and 28" monitors are; they will be surprisingly bigger than the monitors you are currently using

Thanks for the input man. I'll keep an eye out for 27" then. I'm having trouble finding monitors that have the height adjustable feature too, as its really handy and better than paying $30 for the monitor lifter stand.

It could help if you say what resolution you are looking for and amount of tables etc. What graphics card are you using you would need a top end one to have one monitor in 4K let alone two

I think the ACER Predator XB281HKBMIPRZ monitor seems perfect for you; with a highly versatile stand though it seems to have mixed review online

Not all monitors will have a black Friday deal on them but Acer seems to have a variety of these types of monitors so you can see what you like.

PS if you end up buying the last monitor in stock on a black Friday deal before i get around to buying mine there will be hell to pay!

Guys I'm looking at the new Macbook pros with touch bar, besides of them looking sexy , that touch bar seems that it can be pretty cool in game play, it can be used for: switching between tables, betting size buttons, betting slider, etc.
you think there is a chance stars and other sites with mac app will develop their app to have touch bar functionality? can be pretty dope!

Prices of older parts will probably go down though.

I just picked up two 24" and two 27" monitors. I have one of each opened, and I'm gonna use them for a short while to decide what size I like.

I find the 27" is great for playing as I can lay out 6 tables on one monitor. As far as simply using the computer and the internet, the 27" does seem a bit big, and the 24" would be more appropriate. But overall because of poker, I'm leaning towards 27" for now.

How large of monitors do you guys generally play on?

hey guys, moving country and looking to buy a full new set up. looking for recomendation for

1- 2-3 really good monitors that work really well together
2- 1 pc built with lots of ram and will work super fast etc
3- 1 really good chair

looking for high end for all three and looking for best quality. pc will only be used for poker but will need to be optimal for running sims too

i am the absolute worst and have always just used imac/macbook/apple monitors, but will use that as 2nd set up now.

Do some high end PCs that are absurdly expensive.

I switched to 1 40 inch monitor with 3840x2160 resolution and wouldn't go back to multiple monitors now if you paid me. Main thing is forget about the actual size of the monitor having a very high resolution is more important for actual real estate on the screen. If you insist on multiple monitors i would advise getting 2 graphics cards which is expensive but does wonders for how smooth everything runs.

http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/10...orce-gtx-1080/

2 of these would run anything you want.

Gl with the move.

Disclaimer may be overkill for what you actually need if only going to play poker but if money no object why not.

If you're building a state of the art PC, you'll want this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10833/...evo-1tb-review, and you'll need a Z170 motherboard (or adapter card) to get the most out of it.

Are you wanting this computer to have have the ram for preflop? Or will you be renting a server for that? What is your price range for the comp?
