I also like to say that i would prefer an Asus as most Asus laptops look pretty good. But for some reason, there doesn't seem to be much 14 inch laptops from asus that are i5 or i7. Most are 15 inch or the rare 13 inch. But 13 inch laptops just seem a bit too small for me even though it would be connected to external monitor a lot.

I don't play any games on my computer. But the last one i posted is gaming laptop. So would that be plus or not? I know my sager np2740 is a gaming laptop... but of course it looks nothing like one which is why i had bought this sager.

And from looking at this. It seems like the Asus in the 1st choice would probably seem best? Reviews seem to be very good. I would of course replace any laptop i buy with an SSD.

Thanks all.

Hey all. Last laptop i want to post. The first link i had thought was probably good.. then i read it has an internal battery which is the last thing i want. My sager np2740 has internal battery and thus its plugged in all the time.

Thoughts on this one? I see theres a 256 ssd attached to it. At the moment i have 2 other laptops where both are 256ssd. So would that mean i can add one of the old laptop ssd to it... then have a total of 512 ssd total? Or would i need to get a brand new 512gb ssd and take this 256ssd out? And one has to wipe everything on that ssd out before you put it into the new laptop right? Thanks.

It also seems to have a huge resolution... 3840 x 2160 which i dont ever recall laptops having. Though the same issue.. internal battery it seems.

I own the zenbook ux305. I play 4 tables on it with HM without any issue. It could handle more yet I never tried. The cpu runs at about 8% at 4 tables. I play on Bovada, and 4 tables of Bovada is probably equivalent to about 15 on poker stars. A good portion of players can't even run one table smoothly. Bovada software is horrible.

This laptop has no fan. It may no but the best choice for you. I love it and am happy I bought it. I keep it clean. Any computer related things I run arch on it. The only thing I use windows 10 for is poker. I can say it runs great for me and its an elegant choice.
BUT 20 tables of poker stars all day on a fanless computer...
It may not be the choice for you.

thanks for that information. Anyone here that plays on stars can give advice on this? Of course those that use hem2 and tableninja etc.

I took a look at the zenbook ux305. It looks very nice... slim and thin. Do you have i5 processor or i7? Very good reviews it seems. Only negative is its 13.3 inches which is bit small. But since laptop i use is always 14.1... is 13.3 and 14.1 really a big difference or not much? the other thing is when i play poker, almost always i connect it to an external monitor. I had relocated outside the usa... thus i play in my apt with my laptop connected to monitor close to 100 percent of the time.

Can someone tell me here if the zenbook ux305 would be good enough for 20 tabling with hem2 and tableninja or tableoptimizer? It seems it should be more than good enough?

Okay im looking at the zenbook ux305ua

http://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-UX305U...ywords=zenbook

Thoughts on this? Most likely i will get this if i buy another laptop.

Another question but does anyone here have a backup laptop in case something goes wrong with your regular laptop? The reason why i ask this is because i'm in Mexico almost always and its hard to get a fast computer there in case my sager laptop goes bad. I seen what they had available and most of their laptops are those old slow laptops. I dont think i even seen any i5 laptops while i was checking out computers there. For example, any parts that i want to get here.... i cannot. But if my hard drive goes bad or something similar, does it mean im going to be without a computer?

Thats why im thinking about just getting that asus zenbook as a backup in case my sager suddenly no longer works/powers on at all because it has caused me so many issues. Good or bad idea?

Now if you are in a country where its easy to get a new fast laptop or fixed, obviously you wouldn't be getting a new laptop.

Also I want to know how common it is for a computer to no longer work at all and any attempt to fix it just won't work. Thus even replacing any part of it wouldn't do anything at all. Because that is the reason i have for just getting a new laptop as backup in case my sager has issues again. And the price im paying for the laptop isn't exactly cheap. BUt i don't want a case where i would be without a computer for a while if my sager suddenly just doesn't work anymore.

Ayn recommendations for a serious grinding laptop?

- 4-6 tables (smooth)
- multiple clients at once
- Huge pt4 database -> ssd
- HUD with a tone of stats
- No extern display (traveling) -> so probably 15 inch+
- Option to connect at least 2 extern displays
- no gaming
- budget: open end but I#m looking for the most cost efficient solution

almost any 1080p+ laptop with an SSD. Whats available to you depends on your local market.

My old laptop quits duty by not showing me that a cable is plugged in.

thinking about getting a new one. I was thinking about
-a SSD or at least SSHD for fast PT4 read/write times
-a Full HD display if I want to tile or show the lobby next to the table
- at least 5 hour battery capacity - no more blinding out due to low battery when out in the open.

how important are CPU/RAM? I am running on a super crappy 2x1.6ghz AMD w 4GB upgraded to 8 GB RAM and have sick problems with PT4+888 and HRC calculations are also super slow. Most of the affordable (<1200€) laptops only have 8GB RAM so I was wondering if I could get enough additional power out of a better CPU + SSD combo to ignore the halt of RAM GB size. No additional RAM in getting a laptop after running 5 yrs on a crapmachine. Huh.

How much should all this be worth? Will have to borrow the money anyway but If i can grind it in with a smooth machine it should be not that much of a problem.
Have been grinding without a HUD lately because of the old crapper.

I'm having issues with poker clients shutting down. I play bovada, ACR, and occasionally bet online. Between bovada/ACR and HEM, it seems like once a session something shut downs. I can't tell if it is the client or my desktop, but regardless, I'm thinking about upgrading my system (it's only 3 months old, but I can find another use for it).

I have a i5 with 16GM RAM and 1TB hard drive. I run dual 27inch monitors, but also run an extension to have my 55in TV run. Part of the issue is run I run Netflix on the TV-maybe I need to upgrade my internet speed? Any advice would be appreciated

Just so you know, I have a pretty nice computer setup and Bovada shuts down for me too. Just about every time I play. I have cox 100 mb/sec internet. Of course everything else stays connected.

Yeah, I'm nearly positive the Bovada issues are client related. I think ACR/HEM crashes though may be computer related.

Just ordered this. My question is how important is it to upgrade to 32GB RAM and will I notice a difference with/without playing on 4 sites (all US), with HUD, 15-18 tables.

27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display
• 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 8GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - two 4GB
• 512GB Flash Storage
• AMD Radeon R9 M390 with 2GB video memory

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a new monitor for multitabling. Until now I got 2 screens 23''. I am a bit confused between 2 options

1) Buy a 4k ultra hd monitor 28" inch (3840 x 2160)
or
2) Buy a 32'' LED FULL HD (1920 x 1080)

I really have no idea which option will be more comfortable. I need to fit at least 9 tables (not minimized).

Any ideas ?

1080 in the height is BS for 9 tables imho. I use 1200 and I feel it's better for 6 than 9 tables.

Any 3840 x 2160 will be sufficient for poker. I have a 40 inch with that res and you could fit 20 reasonable sized tables on it if you were so inclined. Just check that your graphics card can handle it.

Go for the higher res over actual screen size, a 60 inch TV with bad res is alot worse for poker than a 27inch monitor with high res.

Hey guys,
I have an old Dell Inspiron N4030 and was wondering if it would work with LG 25UM58-P 25-Inch 21:9 UltraWide IPS Monitor with Screen Split ?? I recently upgraded to an 500gb SSD and it feels like a new computer, runs super fast without any problems. So I guess I would like to know that if required, similar upgrades could be done in order to run with the monitor.
Thanks

Hey guys i have an i7 sager np2740 quad core laptop that went bad and can't get it repaired according to the repairshop. I was recommended to get a quad core laptop a while back since i 20 table and use holdem manager 2 and tableoptimizer etc. There is no lag if i don't use hem obviously. I think if hud is turned off, then not much lag but most people here use hem2 and hud of course and along with tableoptimizer or tableninja and apparently programs like notecaddy which i read uses lot of resources as well.

I have to get a new laptop asap. I want to stay away from any sager or anything like that. Also is it bad idea to avoid a quad core laptop? Thing is i always connect it to external monitor and don't play on the laptop. Laptop sager is 14.1 and i preferred smaller laptop. I do not like 15 inch laptop as they are bigger. Though the laptop stays on the desk and i rarely bring it outside. But i just prefer 14.1 laptop. I rather have a 13.3 laptop as oppose to a 15 inch laptop even though i don't bring it to places and because its almost always connected to external monitor. And battery wears out fast on the quad core.

What percentage of you people who heavily multitable with hem2 and other programs even use a quad core? I mean if you use a desktop, well im sure many of you do. But for someone who uses a laptop, i assume very few people use a quad core laptop? They really aren't that many of these laptops.

I want a new laptop where it doesn't have much issues. My laptop turned off on me and can no longer turn on... i want to stay away from sager or those types of laptops. Right now im thinking get an i5 or possibly i7 non quad core laptop and have ssd as i usually do and either 8gb of ram minimum as i always do or even 12gb. Is that enough? Would anyone here suggest getting a macbook air or macbook pro as those laptops i hear rarely have issues? But i would have to use bootcamp i heard. I don't really mind this. I just don't want computer issues where it needs repairing or problems arising and i hear macbooks are great computers. However, i want to get a 13.3 one as oppose to a 15.4 one if i can't get a 14.1.

Here are the laptops im looking at. can someone here give me thoughts?

1. Asus. This looks pretty nice but it might be a bit slow?
https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX305...s=asus+zenbook

2. Asus very similar as 1st one
https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX303...s=asus+zenbook

3. Same as 2nd Asus but its i7 processor and 512gb ssd. I assume the ssd isn't big deal since you could just buy the 512gb sdd yourself? Thus its really the processor and screen? Big price increase from the 2nd and i heard i5 and i7 doesn't mean that much since its not quad core?
https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX303...s=asus+zenbook

4. asus laptop 15 inch. Looks plain but good reviews. But bit bigger than i like.
https://www.amazon.com/Asus-Flagship...s=asus+zenbook

5. asus laptop 15 inch. Looks plain and good reviews but bit bigger size.
https://www.amazon.com/F556UA-AS54-1...s=asus+zenbook

6. macbook pro 13.3. Is the processor still decent? I don't want the 15.4 because its a bit bigger than i like. Also isn't it true with hard drive, theres no point of upgrading with apple since everyone just buys a separate ssd? Thus upgrading from 128gb to 256gb when hard drive is 7200 rpm is useless? I think getting this and putting a 250gb or 512gb ssd would be good enough? The ram is 8gb and i believe that is the max ram allowed?

http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs-retina/

7. macbook air

This laptop looks like its for someone that uses it for entertainment. So avoid this? Curious if anyone here uses this for heavy multitabling. Processor seems slower than a macbook pro. I would get the 13.3 as oppose to 11.6 as that is way too small even though i use with external monitor.

http://www.apple.com/macbook-air/specs.html

I read zenbook is like a macbook except its much cheaper which is good. But the thing is i hear many of these laptops have issues on the reviews. I don't want any issues or lessen issues with it etc. So im sort of leaning with macbook pro... if not one of those zenbooks. But if choosing either macbook pro or that more expensive zenbook, the macbook is a clear choice right? I will be using bootcamp which i heard is necessary to use windows on a mac. I hear people mention no point in buying a macbook for online poker but i want to make sure my laptop don't have issues. So i kind of want to stay away from other brands. I also have an old asus laptop bought many years ago that has many issues which is why i got a new sager. And also because the asus was too slow. Can someone here have recommendations based on this? Thanks.

Hey guys. So assuming this laptop is good enough to 20 table with holdem manager 2 and tableoptimizer/tableninja... and its i5-6200u, that means any of the 13.3 zenbooks with the same specs... i5- 6200u, 8gb ram and 256ssd should be good enough then right?

Im not sure how many tables neuro plays but it seems like even this is good enough?

I am currently on a 1080p 24" Asus monitor. I'd like to get a 27" 1440p monitor to add in more tables. How many tables can I realistically get on a 27" 1440p if I can only get 6 tiled on a 1080p 24"?

Here's what I am leaning toward:
