every cheap laptop thats on the market is 1366*768 and has no ports that will support a 30" unfortunately.
The Vaio I listed at the start of this thread has HDMI out and a video card that can support a 30", but I haven't been able to figure out if HDMI supports the same Dual-link standards as DVI. Any idea?

Hmmm a new operating system install, guess I can do that, it'll just be a pain getting all my settings for software back the same!
Thanks though gonna order an ssd now
Going for this one:

Yea, perfect choice for a SSD boot drive. No idea about transferring your OS, but you could always do a fresh install.
but - You'll need 2.5 mounting brackets if your PC case doesn't have them. The SSD is smaller than a normal harddrive and doesn't just fit in a normal 3.5 bay in a PC.
