21" 4K monitors sounds totally pointless.
Text will be un-readable at native resolution on such a tiny monitor.

Once they have like 40"+ reasonably-priced 4K-monitors out there I might consider upgrading my 20"-30"-20" setup.
Maaaaaaybe 36"+.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated because I'm just going to pull the trigger on this otherwise since it seems that computers for poker/no gaming don't have to be too over the top.

Basically I'm OI my current computer. Could probably get it fixed but I've just had enough of it, so putting it in the bin.

I basically need comp to run;

- 3 monitors
- 15-18 tables across 5 sites
- PT4 (have always used HEM, im also over that so changing to PT4 on new comp).
- I stream tv shows online from time to time
- skype
- web browser with 8-10 tabs open at any given time.

http://www.msy.com.au/SYSTEMS/INTELA...RTAINMENT3.pdf

- Going to do system on the left using the i7 processor.
- Will upgrade to 480G SSD and also the 2GB Radeon R7-260x (should run 3 monitors?)

All look fine? Any issues?

Thanks in advance! Any thoughts appreciated!

PQ321QE is actually a 31.5" monitor, but very pricey. I'd go for the Samsung 28" or wait a year or so for more 4k screens to come out. You don't need a very powerful GPU unless you want to game etc on it.

kizk: it kinda depends on your needs, bigger is better obviously for screen space, be sure to get a high enough resolution (at least fullHD and preferably WQHD or higher if you have a lot of tables open). I'm assuming by ultra wide you mean 21:9 aspect ratio, personally I don't see the point of those things and I think it wouldn't be that great for poker, but that's just me. I'd go for a 27" WQHD or as mentioned 28" 4k screen.

mjw006, seems fine at first glance. Yes the GPU will run 3 screens.

Going to buy/build a new setup as i am moving continents...

Currently looking at the 30" Korean monitors in 2560x1600, Yamakasi for example. Is it an ok choice for ~450$ ?

If i want to run 2 of those in dual screen, what's the specifics i need to look for in the graphic card ?

NEW ASUS PB287Q is just out (28 inch 4k UHD)...

http://www.cyberport.de/asus-pb287q-...06U_11089.html

I am gonna buy Ultra 4k HD and i will stick with ASUS cause i had awesome experience with them. The question is, whether i go for the 28 inch or the 31.5 inch.

I really only want to use one Screen (cause of my growing neckproblems and stiffness). I usually play 10-12 tables.

The price difference between the 28 inch ASUS PB287Q and the 31.5 inch Asus PQ321QE is about 1500 $. Money is not a huge issue , but i am still happy if i can save.

But after all, my comfort > money, but will the 31.5 give me that much more comfort? With the 31.5 inch, will i have enough space to put the lobby somewhere while 12 tabling?

No, this screen runs at 60hz when connected through HDMI 2.0 or Displayport 1.2. So in this case you'll have to connect it through DP. It's the same screen used in the Samsung btw, and you can expect more monitors to use this screen in the future. Furthermore, i don't believe 30hz would have a large (if any) impact if used strictly for poker. For gaming or other fast-moving uses it's another story.

Personally I don't think the price justifies going for the bigger screen (and additionally, if you want to play fast games on it as well, it's less suitable since it has a higher response time), but that's up to you really.

Not sure if you could fit the lobby on there as well, depends how small you're comfortable making your tables I guess.

almost anything can do that. You'll have to be more specific.

Whats the difference between a laptop that has a SSD as primary and a laptop that has a HDD primary and SSD secondary?

That sounds like a weird setup. If your system has an SSD it should always be the primary drive, meaning your OS and programs are installed on that drive. The reason for this is because an SSD is much faster than a HDD, thus your system and programs installed on there will function much faster (reduced time to load and write program files into memory).
The reason you have a HDD as secondary is because HDDs are considerably cheaper per GB, which is useful for storage where you don't necessarily need greater speed (for example video and audio files).
There is no reason to have a HDD as primary over an SSD.

Fairly rare for laptops to have two hard drives as well.

Well, deciding between an Acer Aspire V3-772G 17.3" FHD matt with 1 TB HDD 120 GB SSD and Acer Aspire V5 Series 15.6" 256 GB SSD. What you guys think?

For poker only? If not, what else? Stack/tile tables? If tile, how many? Battery life important? 120GB SSD big enough for your programs? Do you run a lot of programs simultaneously?
etc.
