anyone have experience with CyberPower PCs? They are gaming PCs and seem to have similar specs to what poker players want/need. Prices range quite a bit too.. any comments from ppl who know computers would be appreciated.

what are you trying to do with your computer? You don't need much to play poker.

If I order a PC with a 120gb ssd would I need a HD to go along with it?? I would be using the comp for poker only, I wouldnt be storing any music/movies etc. on there. But, I would have a pretty big database with PT3..

Should I just add a 500gb HD to the order or should I buy an external HD or is the 120gb ssd enough?

I'd just order same PC with 240Gb or 256Gb SSD.
The price difference can't be that much these days.
AFAIK bigger SSD's tend to be faster, too. Or at least that was the case earlier, dunno about latest ones.
FWIW i have a 240Gb SSD and it's >50% full now and i rarely do much else than play poker.

didn't really read trough the thread, but need some opinions on this: https://shop.digitec.ch/en/s1/hp-pro...otebook-298478

I had a desktop for the last few years but thinking about buying this laptop. Would use it for multimedia stuff and poker.

Specs look decent but when it comes to laptops the specs come 2nd to usability and features. Your best bet is to type 4530s review into google and read whatever seems relevant. EG http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/lapto...-probook-4530s

Any particular reason you want that one specifically? When making big-ticket purchases such as a laptop, there's a fine balance to be struck between ensuring you're getting 100% the best deal - which is impossible because there's so very much to choose from out there - and making sure you're getting good value for money. I would look a bit harder, I don't like the idea of spending that much on a 3* product.

It should be enough, however its correct that emptier SSDs run better, so if you will have a 50gb database, it will be noticeable vs. if you had a 250gb ssd

well, a friend that works in IT recommended it to me. Just wanted to make sure there's nothing missing for poker purposes... Price is ~700 CHF which is about the same in $$

you think I should get better for ~ same price? just don't want to end up with smth crappy like toshiba or fujitsu lol

I've never owned anything by HP, I like basically everything Samsung have ever made when it comes to laptops.

Filtering on expert reviews according to the following: £250-500; 5*; 12"+; W7, the first one http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/lapto...spire-v3-571/2 looks pretty good, as does http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/lapto...pavilion-dv6/2. Obviously you have to look at the date of the product, a product reviewed 2 years ago is going to be nowhere near as good as one reviewed yesterday; the next step is to corroborate with another source, just in case other people think it's awful; for the first, this is the only other review I can find given the product appears to have come out very recently; at least it's not a commercial review (i.e. they want to talk the product up so you'll buy it from them). For the 2nd, I can't actually find any other useful reviews.

In any case. I do enjoy doing this but this is blind, I don't know your requirements (mobility, processor power, battery capacity, screen quality, keyboard quality, connectivity, etc etc) so I'm just looking for a generically good laptop for a poker player. I find that spending some time doing this yourself means you can be very satisfied with your purchases.

Would a DELL Ultrasharp u2412m (res 1920x1200) do fine 6-tabling 6max cash? Is it even possible to 9-table on this monitor?

Yes and yes. More than enough for 6 tables

I am having huge dilema between
dell U3011 2560x1600
and
dell U2711 2560x1440

pretty lame thing is that you cant actually fit more tables on the 30'', you will just have free vertical space... and also movies would be better on the 27''. Then again I am afraid the 27'' is just way too wide... Also its tiny, my 22'' 1680x1050 has 28mm per pixel, the 30'' has 25mm and the 27'' only 23mm, I am afraid I'll have to be way to close to read my HUD...
I am most likely going to tile 12 tables on stars (one stack being main stack so I can play even 20 tables, just stick the less important ones in one).
I'm trying to decide for several days, changing my mind every hour...
any opinion welcome
