$0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players[/b]
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Villain has been active and has shown one strong hand at showdown when being the preflop aggressor such as JJ. Will pound the flop and turn with bets and will call down bets with marginal holdings. Me being the MP player raising first i showed good strength but his 3bet OOP had me blundered on what he may be doing.

What would you guys have done?

MP: 100 BB
Hero (CO): 101.5 BB
BTN: 100 BB
SB: 149 BB
BB: 100 BB
UTG: 91.2 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q A

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, fold, SB raises to 8.5 BB, fold, fold,

It's fine to call with this hand and see a flop. Can also 4b/f but I dont think considering this option is necessary in a 10 cent sng.

Depends how active he was.

Folding, calling, 4bet can all be good options here.

If you call you are risking 6BB to win 12 (villain’s 8.5 + your initial raise of 2.5 + the 1 posted by BB). You need 33% equity to make a call break even. Do you have it?

If villain is a bit who only 3 bets a range of QQ+, AK, then no. However you describe villain as “active”, which means his range is likely wider. Furthermore SB strategy often is 3b or fold, so villain’s range is often at least somewhat wide. IMO you probably have at least 33% equity here, so you could call.

That doesn’t mean you should call, though. You also have the pot of 4 betting. The value of a 4 bet if villain is at the lower end of his range is obvious. If villain has you beat (and is as active as you say) he likely 5 bets here, in which case you can comfortably fold.

IMO calling or 4 betting are both viable. I’d personally lean toward 4 betting, but I wouldn’t argue with flatting. I do think your fold is too nutty, though.
