Hi, probably an easy spot but just wanted to check

Villain is unknown only 8 hands 13/0/0 my plan was to x/r get it in but when he did what he did i folded, I think that i made a big error, ran a few equity calcs and even with 8 im in decent shape, is this always a get it in?

Cheers

I would have just called flop since it's acceptable for BTN to fire off 1bb with a lot of stuff, you want to see more cards and keep all his bluffs in (only worse club draws), which you're beating with AcTc. As played, his raise size is so small that you're priced in to call and see a turn to re-evaluate. You definitely do not want to jam here if you think he has an 8, if I did my math correctly against any 8 you're going to need to win this like 33% of the time if you push all-in and AcTc on 8s8c2c vs any 8 your equity is about 25%, much worse if he has 22. You're getting good odds to just call flop even against an 8.

In short: I would have just called 1bb flop bet, but as played I would still have called but never jammed vs a 3bet

Typically in the solvers, the NFDs will call while you you bluff the weaker FDs. This is because with the A high can win at showdown some % of the time without improving, and you are blocking the most likely draws that he would be bluffing and if he is bluffing you beat all of his bluffs already.

Plus you can win a big pot by coolering those bluffs if the flush does come in.

I'm not sure exactly what your question is; are you asking if you should always get it in vs their flop 3bet? Regardless, you said you folded and that's a mistake. You realized that and are correct. Don't fold.
