Table is five handed as is the other table.
Next bust goes to the final table. Top seven get paid.

Blinds are $2k/4k/4k. Under the gun with $44.5k.
Everyone has me covered.

The guy on my left folded an earlier button open shove when I had about 13BB and he claims he folded Jacks (I had Aces) and it kind of blew my mind but I think he was not lying. The other players have not gotten too much out of line.

I see A5 of hearts.

Push or fold?

I think shove is fine. I mean, especially if they're folding that tight to shoves. You only have four players to get through, and you're not as close to the money as it looks* unless there are some extremely short stacks on the other table.

* - in general, I look at the percentage of players currently in the field who need to bust to determine how far I am from the money, and start thinking about the soft bubble when around 10-15% of the ITM players still need to bust out. So, like, in a tournament paying 700, you wouldn't be thinking of playing to cash at 1000, but you start to think about it with around 800 left.

Of course, ICM continually has an effect on our decisions even this far from the money and all, but the point is more about when you should really start passing on spots specifically to make the money. I don't think you're close enough or deep enough to pass this one, without knowledge of micro stacks at other tables. And UTG/5 is the HJ, so there's a big difference between shoving from there vs. UTG/9.

Abuse the bubble... as they say.

This is an easy push.

I am curious if you think this is a straight push/fold for this hand or your range. Even at 11BB I’d still have some raise/folds and some raise/calls. This hand clearly goes in the open jam range for me.

Can you expand on the theory behind having some raise/folds with 11BB please?
Are we attempting to balance so that we can also have raise/calls? Because one r/f takes us to 9BB and what are raising non all-in now?

I would have r/fs and r/giis also this depth, with the bottom and top of my range.

One way to think about is that you have *too much* fold equity with the the top of your range (QQ+, AKs). This is accentuated because there is a fair bit of ICM here. If you had 11BBs and the tournament was early and stacks were deep, I'd be less inclined to have a min raise range here.

You can balance this with some suited connectors that have good playability when called but are usually behind when we jam and get called.
