Final Table, bounty tourney (Big bounty on me).
I decided to limp push this hand against a Villain that was very loose preflop.
It is better to limp call against his size?
Thanks

Limp to shove, or raise to 4bet all-in/call shoves look good. Limp to call 5bb puts you in weird spots but may induce postflop spew vs the right opponent.

Seems fine. Flipping at this stage isn't ideal but you just have too much of a hand blind vs. blind.

The 5x is unusual though. Suggests a strong but vulnerable hand. I suppose you might be able to limp/call and wait to get it in on a good flop, but it's hard to say what that is for 88. Like do you fold JT2. But I looked at the results so I may be biased. Limp/calling might just be putting yourself in a spot where you lose pots you should win and lose 1/6 of your stack in the process.

If villain is an unknown or is known to be a recreational player, the 5bb size should trigger alarm bells.

Recs often limp with weak hands, standard-raise medium and premium hands, and (as nath said) raise big with big hands that they feel are vulnerable.

It can be hard to tell what hands a particular rec calls vulnerable, but AK and 99-QQ are often in the mix. The big raise is an attempt to scare people away, but they will almost never fold to a reraise. The exploitative play is to just call if you're getting the right odds, fold otherwise.
