The video, starting around minute 17, only discusses what to do to the jam. UTG raise to 8K, hero 3!s to 18K in MP1 with 120K effective to start hand. Hero thinks villain only has QQ+/AK and folds partly as sort of near bubble.

It used to be they would say here not to 3! if you have a close decision to a push. I would prefer to flat call initially, but would call the jam as played. Is the 3! OK? Hero is mainly a cash game player.

I think the UTG raise is to 6500 with the blinds at 1500/3000 with a BB ante.

I agree that I would call here rather than 3 bet. Its a set mining spot for me. If I 3 bet it would be to 19,500.

Given its a UTG raise I would fold to the jam. There are 18 combos of QQ+ and 16 combos of AK. I think UTG is always jamming with KK+ and mostly jamming with QQ (which wasn't his take on it). If it was 50% higher pairs and 50% AK its worth calling from an EV standpoint. But from a survival standpoint you will bounce about 62% of the time and this is the main event. Also I don't think UTG jams 100% of the time with AK so it might not even be +EV.

Though I have to say in the Main Event I called a UTG open with JJ on the BTN and SB 3 bet (he was a GTOish guy). UTG folded (!) and I just called. I probably should have 3 bet or 4 bet given UTG was also young and likely GTOish. Flop was Kxx and I lost about 10,000 chips to KTo. Still I make a decent amount 70% of the time. And he did check the turn thinking I could have KQ.
