Playing the $800 Deepstack at WSOP. 770 left, 713 get paid. I have 65K at the 10KBB level, after posting the ante, (that is 55K behind). Average stack is 240K. Based on the speed of the bustouts, I am about 90% to cash if I just fold everything (I will have fewer than 2BB if I do this). Min Cash is $1280, average stack is worth about $4300.

The Button opens off a 40BB stack to 2.2x, SB folds and I have 88. Jam or try for the min cash?

I am really mixed about this. It's probably a jam, but I treat the bubble like a satellite and might find a fold.

How wide do you think the button is opening?

I didn't have any special reads on the button. I figured he might be a tad bit wide here, but he was a thinking player, and knew I could be jamming here, so he won't be opening junk like J7o

Easy get in against a button open. Really bottom of their open range might (key word might) get folds. You also dominate hands like 55-77 they will open and call off with. $1280- we aren’t at wsop to min cash. If you had say more bbs and actually were guaranteed a cash spot, then maybe consider fold but here with 6.5bb in bb vs button- I never fold. You have almost fold equity villian should fold to a shove under 10-11bb due to math but I’ve seen folks fold spots where I rip under 10bb which is just a tad crazy.

I would fistpump gii. If it was like an utg or utg+1 open, I might be more skeptical of the spot.

Im jamming and I don't really think its very close TBH.

A double up gets us to ~160k which is significant considering what the average is.

If average stack is worth $4300, then I am going to assume that your current stack is worth around $1600 and a double up stack is worth around $3000. Not sure how accurate that is but its not going to be far off.

If btn is opening a relatively tight 37% and isn't folding to your jam then 88 wins 60%. $3000*60%= $1800. So based on these rough estimates you make $200 by jamming compared to folding. I have to be overestimating the value of a double up and underestimating the value of our current stack to make this a fold.

It looks like the equity breakeven point is around 55%. Which means 66 is fold and 77 is borderline.

I would be tempted to call here and jam most flops. You have 0% Fold Equity when you jam preflop. The types of flops I would c/f are where there are 3 cards higher than an 8 or AKx/AQx.

Its not that you have much fold equity with 3.3 bb's into a 5.9 bb pot, its just that you have a much better chance of survival. Of course you lose to 99+ on most of those boards either way.

I would check any 8xx flop because BTN is cbet jamming virtually 100% here if you check. And you get to jam the river anyway.

We have 6.5bb and pocket 8s vs a min open from the button. We are not gtd to cash. I get this in fairly quickly. Will be +$ even this close itm
