$800 buy-in. Still a bit early in the tournament. We have villain tagged as a bad player. They raise and call large 3 bets with hands like A3s, etc. We don't have a lot of data points on them, but they are a bit too loose preflop. We are 8 handed. VPIP is lists as 35% over about 70 hands.

Hero checks, Villain shoves 19.5BB

Hero? I Keep thinking that the villain can have a worse Ace, but not sure if they will bet river with a worse Ace.

Villain can also have a heart draw so I think I call here. Villain can have 88/66/AT+ as well. Or even a club flush with 8x. But because the 9 plays I think we have to call.

Looks like a pretty straight forward call considering how the flop action played out, your description of villain and the fact he called in the CO. There's just way too many draws and total air he can have. You're pretty near the top of your range for a 3 handed flop that you over called on.

I am less sanguine here than my fellow posters. Would Villain shove Ax, no kicker for value? What would he be hoping to get called by?

Sure, hearts missed. But, he is allowed to have better Ax, some backdoor clubs, and FH.

I think based on the odds you're getting to call the river you should call, but will lose a good portion of the time. We don't know if he barrels away with hearts, or if he overplays worse Ax, but you don't need this to happen much to make it a call

Pre facing UTG+1 raise and CO call I'm ok with defend but multi-way this is probably down towards the bottom of our offsuit Ax hands and against a good UTG+1 I wouldn't hate just folding pre.

In theory this hand probably always calls as I'm pretty sure worse Ax is supposed to barrel three streets off 30BB effective, even three ways. (although I'm guessing CO is supposed to check back some of their worst Ax so idk)

In practice? Ugh, it is one of our worst offsuit Ax that we should be overcalling with, we don't block backdoor clubs. Not having a heart is something, but there aren't a ton of busted heart draws here unless villain is super wide here and has nonsense like T7hh or 75hh. Still think it's just a shrug call, but it's close and maybe against someone we think is tight and straighforward fold is fine.
