I have been reading dara o Kearney poker books and one thing IÂ’m unsure about is the UTG opening range. How many handed would this be ? IÂ’m not an experienced MTT player as I usually play cash games. But is K6s a standard open from UTG seems very loose to me

Range:
A2s+, K6s+,Q8s+,J8s+,97s+,67s+,33+,10Jo+,K10o+,A9o+

Any input on this range from anyone ?

give or take that's an unexploitable LJ (3 off the button) open range under pure chip-EV conditions

different solution will include different amounts of 33 and unsuited broadways

Opening ranges are generally going to be significantly wider in MTT's with the existence of an ante. K6s from UTG in an eight-handed situation is probably a little loose, I likely would be folding that UTG and maybe start opening that in full in the LJ/HJ. But the broader concept is that you need to be way more inclined to open wider in MTT's with no rake and an ante in play than you would in a cash game with rake.
