yes, somehow my brain came up with this ******ed line, I apologize in advance if your eyes hurt.
assuming he plays a "polar" flop strat where he's not b/c Tx, which I think is pretty much the standard in MTTs IME, we have a couple competing considerations at play here:
- we don't want to x/j Tx for this amount
- we defo want to x/j some draws that have a lot of equity but can't x/c and continue turn, such as QJ and flush draws
- THUS it seems we must split our range into x/j and x/c....
the problem is that both of these ranges need value hands to be properly balanced and we lack value hands on this board (we peel K3s, T3s pre but not the offsuit combos, we also lack all sets).
it seems due to stack size we need a good amount of value hands in the x/j range otherwise we will be making a large jam w/a weakish range. we need to prevent him from being able to b/c AQ, AJ, Tx, etc. profitably.
otoh we also need value hands for the x/c range otherwise we will be exploitably barreled off this Tx heavy range.
do we have enough value hands for both ranges? does that "matter"? does it make sense wtf i'm saying and how do you approach it?
in this hand he b/c flop w/JT and called my turn jam so obv. we can start taking this line w/Kx and have a nice result. so the moral of the story is just figure out where they're fkking up their ranges and adjust accordingly?
