$3 rebuy, 54 entries, top 7 paid (1st $171)

Down to last 5 players.

Chip Leader ~800k
2nd ~600K
3-5 we each have ~400K

Blinds are 20,000 - 40, 000 with a small ante and go up every 10 mins.

Gets folded to me and I pick up A9o in the SB (guy in BB is in 2nd with 600k chips)

Should I call, raise small, or shove?

I ended up going all in for 400k and got snapped off by AKo

I'm just wondering if this was a correct all-in raise considering the tournament situation with the positions

You should be shoving a lot wider than A9o, just unlucky

About 50% of hands Id guess. Maybe even more.

In a vacuum without ICM, we open shove 10bb bvb with about 70% of hands. ICM makes it a little bit tighter.

Because of the ice pressure. Villain needs to call on the tighter side, so to take advantage of that we can shove very wide into him. Without looking I’d say ledn is correct that we can shove more then 50% of our hands here.

Keeping in mind if the guy is a call station/maniac and is going to call us off with like K7o or something then we would have to tighten up from shoving super wide. But without that read jammmm all day

So lets say he would call with AJ+ , KQsuited, and 88+ Would you still be shoving hands like K9, K10,KJ, QJ ?

Have a play with ICMizer - this can give you optimum ranges including ICM - I think you will be surprised at how wide you should be shoving

If those are the only hands he is calling with then you should probably be shoving any 2 cards.

You make your money in this spot from the bb folding and your stack going up from 10bb to 12bb.
