Just got down to three in this spot. No players have done anything overly aggressive.

BTN Folds.
SB (Hero) ?????????

Everybody jamming in this spot with 15BBs? Can't imagine opening then folding to a jam. Just trying to optimize play in these late tournament spots.

Thoughts, comments would be much appreciated.

The standard play is to jam. If the opponent is very passive, you can also limp-stab with a lot of hands including this one. If he raise small, you can limp-jam.

I prefer to just jam.

If we limp or raise and he jams we will have to fold and we are likely to be a slight favorite with dead money in the pot. Though of course if he has a pair we are fairly doomed. Still I'm guessing that BB will fold 66/77 some of the time.

I don't like limping and then facing a raise to like 4x because our jam will make it profitable for BB to call with hands that are flips. Whereas if we jam we will be getting hands like KQ/KJ/QJ/KT to fold.

Similarly I don't like seeing a flop with 55 in a biggish pot OOP like this.

I think it's a pretty easy jam.

As someone said, you could try limp-jamming, but that's pretty read-specific. Plus, at 15BB effective there's a chance the BB will jam themselves with a hand that has good equity against you but will fold to your jam, and you don't want to limp/call off in that scenario. (As the shortest stack, you probably still have to call off because he's likely jamming A2-A4 and 22-44, but you'd rather pick up the pot with no variance than limp/call off a 52/48.)

Fist pump jam. You are the short stack, and ICM isn't as heavy with just 3 left. All small PP should be routinely jamming here.
