$200 tournament, Hero has a health 40BB on the Big blind. V is a loose player who limp a lot.

V limp in mid position. SB call, I check with 3s5s.

SB check, I check, V bet 4bb.

I called 4bb

Turn: Ts
Pot 11.5bb

I made my flush. While I was thinking, V checked out of turn. I did think that he is acting, but I have a flush here, I feel I need to protect my hand.
Hero bet 7bb.

V instant called.


River: 4h
Pot:25.5

I did thought about possibility of a full house here, but if V had AA,QQ,TT, he would most likely raised Pre.

Hero bet 10bb, and V raised all in.
with another 19bb to call, I tanked and called. V showed As2s and won the pot.

Could I have get away from this spot? Especially V checked out of turn? When amature act weak, they are strong?

Flush over flush with both players using both hole cards is a rare and difficult spot to navigate.

Limpers often limp some premium hands including AA for ‘balance’. They also 4x JJ and similar, so it’s a weird non-linear strat.

I like your line and sizing including the river lead. With a paired board, AA A4 and bigger flushes in range, and zero perceived fold equity (you are rarely folding on that action to the shove), a fold here would also be OK. It becomes situation and game flow dependent.

Ask yourself 2 questions.

Would Villain ever shove worse? Here, that means straights (Maybe?). Top 2? Very unlikely.

What are Villains bluffs? Is he capable of turning Asx into a bluff?

I don’t see much likelihood of either hand type in his range. This is almost always value.

I like smaller turn and, as played, really like the non-large river barrel. You're trying to get value mostly from top pair.

I don't think I can fold here because we'd have straights that can fold plus flushes optimally block better flushes. But this is never a bluff so it's a matter of how many straights he goes all in with. Which for some people could be zero.

Potentially sick angle from V though.

I would donk the flop but as played yes you need to fold - you just barreled 2 streets on a flush and now full house board and he jams over you with minimal fold equity. Furthermore its a 200 live tourny where people are probably playing so ABC - I don't think this is close at any buy in level.
