Call a stop n go with two overs? Call a stop n go with two overs?

Ok probably a lot of people will be for folding pre and there is some merit to it... but do you call the stop n go from the small blind here with two overs?

we are putting in 950 to win 2250 and we have 2 overs. Worst case scenario most of the time is he has a9 a8 which leaves us 3 less outs

And yea, fold pre most of the time/prolly even all the time.

I think I call because so many people stop-and-go so weak, but being 3-handed I'm not sure that a fold isn't best. Shoving into 2 people do we think he's usually showing up with a pair?

wut to the emboldened

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 41.591% 41.21% 00.38% 60375 563.50 { AhJs }
Hand 1: 58.409% 58.02% 00.38% 85018 563.50 { ATo-A8o, KJo-K8o, Q8o+, J8o+, T8o+, 98o }

I screwed my own pot odds calc... too tired today, but yea as per the 28% below I still don't see how this is a great call

Someone who's more awake than me plz explain

we are putting 930 to win 3285. it's 28% or 3.5:1.
since it's multiway villain will hardly do it without, at least, some kind of draw.
if villain has 9 or 8 without an A we have 4.5:1, if he has A or J it drops to 6:1.
we are only good on TJ, QT.

how is it such a clear call?

I honestly have a tough time putting anything into the stove here tbh. I don't really have reads here as rebuy just ended, but if he is a thinking player, his thought process will be that his stack size works pretty well here and could be doing it with anything.

Meh, I call on some boards but not this one probs. If there was a flush draw too I'd call it more often.

But isn't this the perfect board for him to do this on? One that likely didn't hit any hand?

I think he has something more than nothing here, I dunno. It's hard to know what goes through the heads of people who stop & go imo.

I don't know about pre tbh... A month ago I would have never called pre. But if you reread HoH vol.2 on inflection points, he says that we need to loosen our calling and opening ranged when we drop into 10-20 for M... He says you want to play a few more small pots, but suited connectors/small pocket pairs become unplayable (obviously).
