Sort of interesting hand, which made it to the flop. $25K NLHE WSOP 2023 final table 7-handed, about 8M average stack. Blinds 150K/300K with ante. Folds to Funaro in SB with 8M. Elias in BB has 4.4M after posting. Funaro raises to 800K with AsJs. Elias calls in BB with KdQs. Flop QhTc4h. Funaro pushes for about 1.5x pot and Elias of course calls. Funaro is 27% to win with gutshot bdfd and overcard.

I would push preflop from the SB for 13.5xBB effective. My second choice would be be limp/gii. Not saying the raise is bad. Flat call is also interesting and a close decision to do that or shove from the BB. On the flop, the shove seems best, but I wouldn't be happy with the situation. Certainly possible to make a normal size cbet and perhaps reevaluate, bet/fold, or with the plan to generally gii if raised or called.

Elias must of known his raise here is stronger than a push, hence the call pre rather than jamming. Funaro jamming vs raising is just a matter of what Elias will think of both options. I think Funaro should bet relatively big but jamming isn't good - he'd never jam AA/KK/QQ/etc, but maybe a 1/2 pot bet or something to that effect would imply he's never folding.

Technically Funaro could be balanced with raises. I prefer limp/gii if not shove, as that could be more balanced with weak limping hands. The limp might induce raise/folds or shoves with marginal hands. However, I would shove this hand and limp/gii with even stronger hands, balanced by limp/folds.

Agree, the flop shove it pretty much never KQ or better. The flop shove looks like what it is like AJ/AK/KJ/J9 etc., so better to bet/gii.
