Yeah, that tends to be right from my recollection. It's been a while since I played online but I definitely remember at some smaller stakes seeing people kinda just "3-barrel and hope it all works out" here with AK.
Part of me wants to say to raise the flop. You win it right there sometimes and you still have nine outs plus backdoor clubs against AQ/KK/AA. Only really worried about a set here with no other reads. If you get serious heat back, probably fold; this is such a connected board that it's tough to see one pair or AK shoving the flop, and if he does, more power to him, I guess. (Real sicko mode would be if you jammed the flop; you might even make TT fold.)
If he just flat calls a flop raise you can try to get to showdown unless you improve. If he does something doofy like min-reraise... ehh, I've been thinking about that and I still don't know. I might jam but that might be the lunatic route. I just feel like taking the lead and making him respond to you will at worst clarify the issue and at best win you the pot. And folding out AK is not so bad a result with two cards to come.
Folding the turn is also an option if you believe him. I think if you call turn you call river as well, but I'm not really confident in my analysis here. Tough without any reads and with the stacks this deep.
