biggest mtt downswing? biggest mtt downswing?

I'm a msnl/hsnl cash player who has dabbled in mtts for years (mainly Sundays) without much success, think I'm stuck like $50K over 2k mtts over the last few years no idea of abi as its all over the place and dont care too much tbh. I have an itm of 14% (which I'm told is about right), but never had any major wins (quel surprise). As mtts arent my income its just a % of my cash profits poured into these things (your welcome), so although it hurts and is annoying its not really a big deal over a year, long term its a total waste of my money and time I expect but I like the opportunity every week.

Obviously loads of turbos and large fields means ~2k games is nothing at all variance wise, but it seems like a lifetime - do you people go on these sorts of 'downswings' (if you can even call it that due to low sample size) regulary? Bear in mind I understand that mtters play maybe 2k+ a month but these are all Sunday majors only and a bunch of turbos. I assume if I can beat most msnl games for the last 6 years and am a decent winner in HS SNGs I am pretty much not the fish I appear to be in mtts and its mainly a variance/low sample size/lolrunbad scenario? Not sure if its the right place for this but its downswing-esq so thought I'd ask. ty in advance mtters.

dappadan, 2k mtts w/ those field sizes won't tell you much. Since you're a cash game player I wouldn't even bother with turbos, the edges are so small, and you probably aren't playing optimal push/fold in them anyway. just play the majors and good structured high buy-in mtts and you will be better off.

But I abs <3 turbos I dont think I'm terrible at them either due to do very well in turbo sngs so I'm not totally inept at push/fold strat.

yea, i mean 2k is a small sample in high variance tournaments (huge field mtts and turbos being amongst the highest). you also probably have plenty of mtt leaks, perhaps trying to be balanced when it's rarely the right idea in mtts. but you also probably have a lot of deepstacked postflop edge.

DEF plenty of mtt leaks as a whole, I have some friends who are v successful online mtters and they seem to think im not doing much wrong except volume etc but I know there are some other things that need work. I just dont really enjoy them that much unless deep into it or they are turbos.

yes. Was basically from late Deember last year until late May this year. I play fulltime, so it's a pretty big sample. I am not very good at poker though so it probs explains a lot of it.

I don't mind if you want, but graphs are generally a little inaccurate if you're looking at SS for various reasons. I also play across a bunch of Eurosites too... Although I have cleared about 75% of it over the past month and a half, there is still a decent chunk before I see greener waters...

This summer I played 16 rio dailies and only cashed once and didn't final table any and the fields were sooo soft. It was pretty nonsense.
