I thought it would be interesting to make a list of common "mistakes" players at 2+2 make. What do you think some of your common mistakes you wish to improve are? A hand history, if available, would add to it I think.

One of mine: I Make unnecessary raises folded to me in late position when I have a big stack and small blinds. I often will work up a decent chip stack, only to lose a big pot for "legitimate" reasons, the only real mistake being I shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place.

Ex.:
Full Tilt Poker Game #7474265228: Midnight Madness! (56098991), Table 193 - 30/60 - No Limit Hold'em - 0:31:04 ET - 2008/08/02
Seat 1: Roupdog99 (1,955)
Seat 2: espinosa (1,280)
Seat 3: BIGBIGPLAYA (710)
Seat 4: Vetteparts (3,380)
Seat 5: JWillistylz (1,880)
Seat 6: BlakBart (1,980)
Seat 7: ninerjohn (5,317)
Seat 8: soccerfreakjj10 (3,540)
Seat 9: KnutzAA (940)
KnutzAA posts the small blind of 30
Roupdog99 posts the big blind of 60
The button is in seat #8
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to soccerfreakjj10 [4d 5d]
espinosa folds
BIGBIGPLAYA folds
Vetteparts folds
JWillistylz folds
BlakBart folds
ninerjohn folds
soccerfreakjj10 raises to 180
KnutzAA calls 150
Roupdog99 calls 120
*** FLOP *** [8c 5s 2h]
KnutzAA checks
Roupdog99 checks
soccerfreakjj10 bets 360
KnutzAA raises to 760, and is all in
Roupdog99 folds
soccerfreakjj10 calls 400
KnutzAA shows [Ks Kh]
soccerfreakjj10 shows [4d 5d]
*** TURN *** [8c 5s 2h] [Ts]
*** RIVER *** [8c 5s 2h Ts] [Qd]
KnutzAA shows a pair of Kings
soccerfreakjj10 shows a pair of Fives
KnutzAA wins the pot (2,060) with a pair of Kings

Also, can somebody direct me to an HH converter that works? The one link I can find to one is broken.

Mine is almost the opposite. I tend to make stupid raises/plays deep in tournaments. Trying to steal when I know the situation doesn't present itself but just "wanting to play the hand". Or trying to spot and take advantage of weakness, which isn't bad, but just doing it with absolute garbage and taking the gig to far. Basically, trying to create situations late instead of recognizing and capitalizing on situations when the present themselves. Don't feel like digging through hand histories right now though.

Actually, kind of like your hand but mine tend to come during the late game. I don't mind raising 45s from the button when deep, I rather like that hand. However, you don't want to be raising that hand up in to someone with only 15 BB's, but a deepstacked opponent where that drawing hand could cash in big but not pot commit you.

Oh, and another thing. Not being able to make fairly thing value bets. F-it, really missing value bets all the time. I'm getting better with it, but there are still times when I check behind thinking I have the best hand but not wanting to get check raised. Er, probably a bigger leak than my first fault.

I have a similar problem, also, I have spent so much time with pushbot charts and pokerstove that I am a pretty good preflop player, especially when it comes to the short stack but I am not as good when playing flops.

I guess another one is I tend to check behind more often then I think I should with a marginal to good hands on the river.

Here's the converted hand:

Full Tilt Poker Midnight Madness! No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t30/t60 Blinds - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BB: t1955
UTG: t1280
UTG+1: t710
UTG+2: t3380
MP1: t1880
MP2: t1980
CO: t5317
Hero (BTN): t3540
SB: t940

Pre Flop: Hero is BTN with 4 5
6 folds, Hero raises to t180, SB calls t150, BB calls t120

Flop: (t540) 8 5 2 (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets t360, SB raises to t760 all in, BB folds, Hero calls t400

Turn: (t2060) T

River: (t2060) Q

Spoiler:
Final Pot: t2060
Hero shows 4d 5d
SB shows Ks Kh
SB wins t2060

Probably my biggest tourney leak right now is that I tighten up too much, get near the bubble with a short stack, and then press too hard to get ITM. I need to learn how to steal more often in the middle rounds.

I call a 3 bet with a marginal holding telling myself either hit hard or get out of there...next thing I know I'm bluffing away half my stack

I stack off with JJ+ on a low flop in the late stages like I have the uncrackable nuts, then cry when the inevitable overpair shows up. I have lost many many tourneys this way but I never learn. Sigh.

I agree with you, the opponents stacks were just too small for the implied odds to be there. I know this, but during tournies sometimes it is just like, "Oh wow I have suited connectors on the button folded to me. I raise." I guess a second error that relates is not looking at effective stack enough. I see my stack, know that I am deep enough for a play, and make it. I forget those extra chips I have are virtually meaningless.
