Woooo.... Got an email back from the interview I had at Oregon Health and Sciences University. I got the job as an intern and can start whenever I want (i.e. once classes are out)

... its gonna take away from my poker volume but this is a huge step forward for me in my career path. The research revolves around giving mice meth and alcohol. Its two different labs so i'm not sure what i'll be doing exactly yet, but ive read some of their articles... sick stuff!

OK so I think I want to hire a PA but have no idea how it really works.
I kinda just want some some girl to come over and like, take dog to groomers, take cloths to dry cleaners, bring me some food and do whatever other random **** I want her to do. I'm figuring 2x a week should be enough. I have no clue how long I should keep her on for those 2x a week and how much I should pay.

I know some of you have experience with this. Any input appreciated. Thanks!

TY TY... I've known I got the job since Friday, but i wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to find a house to rent in Portland soon enough... I already told my buddy he could sublet my room for the summer. Thank god I have good friends, cause he said he'd find another place

Its gonna be damn interesting thats for sure... but ethically a little questionable i guess. Like for instance, in one of the projects they are trying to isolate certain genes that contribute to alcohol dependence/withdraw symptoms... So they stick mice in an ethanol chamber for 72 hours. The mice get drunk as hell for 3 days and then they are taken out of the chamber. About two hours later, the researcher picks up the mouse by its tail and can gauge its intensity of withdrawal by measuring the seizures that ensue... I mean all in all its for a good cause (i.e. treatment and prevention for alcoholics) but some if is a bit brutal, eh?
