Not freaking out, but the way government deals with stuff like information or financial help is pretty depressing. Unfortunately Im the one helping our boss manage everything, so Ive spend my last couple days trying to get in contact with institutions and talking to other company owners and Im mentally a wreck by now. Ive grown my first grey beard hairs at 32, will see how it looks and whether I consider that a plus or a negative. But that at least was the signal for me, to stop consuming any kind of media coverage on the corona-virus and only read actual documents put forward by the government on how theyll help their economy.
A few anecdotes:
Two days ago I told another company owner what ways the government has "implemented" to help us out. His reply was "Oh, its so bad for you? We are still doing fine." Today he called me, they are ****ed, he needs all the help he can get and if I can help him file papers and stuff.
One of our distributors already shut down. They lost basically all their customers except for us. But even for us they cant do anything, because they didnt only lose all their customers, most of the places they delivered to have closed. So they couldnt even take our order, because they wouldnt be able to fullfill it. Here is what their boss said he is doing now:
"Well, Im going to a garden center now, get some seeds and start growing veggies in my garden."
