Reading this forum for the first time in a decade and realize I don't know how to play poker anymore.

First in 2023!

I'm fine. First born who some of you chatted with when she was about 6 years old is graduating college this year. Second born in the middle of it. As Eddie Vedder said, "I'm still alive."

Still here.

Pretty quiet around these parts.

Been watching some high stakes poker lately on PokerGo. It’s not the same anymore.

I’ve got a four year old that just started school this year.

i'm still here as well. check in here every once in a while. here's my cliffs:

• got laid off from my irl job in the second round of layoffs in 6 month. they actually asked for volunteers this round. i was very happy to volunteer
• earlier this year i had for the first time severe back spasms that took me out for a week+. had to start PT to rehab. finally got over it after a month or so.
• after getting over my back, i tore my ACL, 2 parts of my meniscus, and broke a bone playing ultimate frisbee. i have consult with an orthopedic at end of may. surgery is almost a certainty
• leaving for london/athens/sailing the Mediterranean later today
• going to propose to my gf soon/on this trip

all things considered life is going well. getting old can be hard! reminder for everyone to stretch regularly, work out all parts of your body, especially your back, drink lots of water, hug your loved ones

would like to make it out to vegas this year but we'll see how post knee surgery goes

Good to see others are still puddling around here. I'm still alive as well. Got a text from Bluefeet a while back that brightened up my day (that was Blue, right, Jay?)

Between Ben's post (feel better, Ben!) and this I'm feeling particularly old and bald right now. I hope to quote Eddie Vedder when my kindergartner graduates from high school.

I did accidentally call him a few years back and then chat. Maybe I should text him "happy mothers day!" today.

Last year I had a concussion, MCL strain and groin pull in hockey. Followed up by a torn Achilles in the summer playing ball.

Getting old is right. And you guys were all young!

I'm so old I forgot that. Sounds familiar though.

I've been lazy in checking the thread I guess. We bought a sailboat in Florida and were on it for 3.5 months. Currently back in Boise for the summer for granddaughters birth and wife's ACL surgery. We will head back to the boat in September. Pretty funny all the getting old talk. Most of you aren't much older than I was when all this started. It gets worse, sad to say. Still better than the alternative.

I'm watching Sam Greenwood right now in the triton poker Cyprus final table live feed on YouTube. That's why I thought to check here for activity.

I'll be in vegas from 23rd through main event, if anyone wants to grab a beer hit me up.

Just watched Galfond's recap of Dwan's two big pots on HCL, and thought to myself "Yeah he's good, but he never won the toughest sng of all time"

I'll be there the 28th through the ME. Hopefully we don't wind up at the same table again, for my sake

I wouldn't know what to do if I sat down at an SNG anymore. I've been playing/studying cash for a couple years now and have been moving up stakes -- currently at 100NL, dabbling at 200NL and winning, yay.

Still travel for work every week, kids are grown and out of the house, and I'm in the best shape of my life having been on a fitness craze for a few years.

Well, I'll be in the bay area at the end of the month. I'm bringing my youngest child up to Santa Cruz - she's xferring to UCSC this year. My oldest child graduated from Cal last Spring and started teaching HS in Oakland this year. Anyway, I should be around for about a week and will accept at least a beer if you're not broke and give one if you are. As the Grateful Dead said (actually Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics):

Playing them feels a bit like trying to remember what I learned in high school Spanish, but it's been going well so far.
