So ACR is running a Million Dollar Sunday tournament where the buy in is $215 and there are many Day1s throughout the week and then Day 2 starts late Sunday afternoon.

The payout structure is weird. Only the people who make it thru Day1 get paid but its a not a traditional bubble where a certain # of people are left. Its a time bubble because the day is ending at the end of the 25k/50k blind level. Also, only about 5% of the entries are making it thru so a min cash is going to be more significant than usual, although we wont know exactly what it is until they update the payout structure to account for only 5% making the money.

On to the hand.....

Very last hand of the flight, the level ended in the middle of the hand. Blinds are 25k/50k.

Hero has 30mil (60bb) in late position and dealt TT (either btn or co, doesnt really matter)

Preflop: EP player with a 40bb stack opens early position. I flat (I was trying to take a lower variance line and bag up a nice stack). SB who has me covered puts in a big squeeze, from 2bb up to 11bb (His pf stats are like 24/17/5 over 80 hands). EP folds and I flat again.

Flop: Jc8c6 SB cbets 1/3 pot, I call.

Turn: Jc8c67 SB checks, I check back with a pot sized bet remaining.

River: Jc8c67K SB jams, I fold

Is jamming turn ever a thing? I kinda feels like it just denies equity from AK/AQ and gets snapped off by overpairs.

Im pretty confident that TT is fold on the river, particular on a big bubble like this, but what hands do we have on the river that can call. Only ones I can think of is KJs and T9s, but thats only 6 combos. Do we check back turn with sets sometimes, despite the wet board, in order to have them in our river range?

My guess is that you should be checking back your entire range on the turn. You are probably still exploitable on the river even with that; but that is part of the price you pay for playing a pot on a big bubble when you are covered.

I know SB has you covered, but I think knowing his actual stack is important. If he had 120bbs it’s a lot different than if he had 65 or 70bbs. Not because we’d necessarily play it differently once we cold call EP’s open, but I do think there’s merit to putting in the 3! preflop. It would also be good to know BB’s stack. If BB is super short, or even has like 20bbs, I think EP’s range might be pretty wide, and we’d be better off 3! his open to deny equity from the blinds, and if sb decides to 4! we can probably make a tight fold (or if EP jams).

Once preflop plays out like it does, I would’ve played it the same as you. But depending on how many bbs the SB and BB had, I’d kind of like a 3! preflop. Especially since SB has aggressive stats. Your smooth call is an invitation for him to 3! a pretty wide range and put us in a spot where we won’t really be comfortable unless we hit a set.

Yeah, I think I agree with this on the whole, particularly that SB's actual stack size is important, and also I think I like 3-balling pre, especially if you're really trying to make it to day 2-- you can certainly fold if SB cold 4-bets you-- and don't want to get in a spot where you potentially lose a lot of chips.
