check behind the flop and go from there, as played anything is meh on the flop but i generally think folding is best.

yeah good flop to check behind, keeps his range as wide as possible when we're mainly folding out worse hands and getting action from better when we bet (although given the dynamic i guess betting is not bad too). as played it looks wp, although that river bet-sizing by him screams value-town!
