I doubt it.

But who made the original raise? If it was 9 handed then it was UTG or UTG+1 so probably not because if I call on the BTN they are much more likely to 4-bet with hands like AQ/AK/JJ/QQ and even TT maybe.

More importantly though, how aggro and wide is the first raiser? Would they 4-bet anything but AA/KK? And how young are they? Are they GTO/Solvers (if yes it means I would fold because they will 4-bet a lot but if they are old and passive I would consider calling). Also how aggro is LJ? is this their 1st 3-bet or do they 3-bet often?

One of the craziest things I saw in Prague at Rebuy Stars Luka tournaments was how frequently my 3-bets were called by people who hadn't yet acted. I did 3-bet frequently so it wasn't awful. When I had AK/AQ and the flop was low it often messed me up and I would sometimes check back the flop because I figured they had a PP. Similarly, when the flop had an A and I had a PP and we were 3-way I would sometimes check as well.

What is also important is the bet sizing. I assume opening raise was 3x but it sometimes is 2.5x. Also if the 3-bet is tiny (like 2x or 2.5x) I give it a lot more consideration. And finally you are on a heater obviously so...

I have never seen a tournament that is 600 BB deep at any level. Where are you playing?

This seems like a relatively easy fold. You have to fold to the 4 bet, have no fold equity, aren't the aggressor, and you have massive reverse implied odds if you hit your straight or flush. Also, you take all the premiums out of your range when you cold call so will be playing relatively face up post.

If the initial raise is to 3BB and the 3 bet is to 10BB, then yes, I am calling 98s in position. OTB with 600BB effective yes, CO is a bit iffy, but still calling it. I am more likely to call it if I think the players are bad and if I can make 10x my call. IF you think you can make 100BB+ if you call and make your hand, then it's +EV.

Phatpots, is that your rule of thumb for what are presumably suited connected undercards?

In theory I'd guess never.

Exploitably if RFI is passive and doesn't 4bet enough and you have postflop edge against both players maybe you should call.

But that is still bad suited connector for the spot.

I think GTO would actually be mixing cold calls and 4-bets here with JTs/78s/67s/56s/45s.

For example:
200bb low rake 6max
UTG open
HJ 3-bet
BTN:
QJs pure fold the worst EV suited connector significantly (45s+)
JTs low freq cold call, never raise
T9s&89s pure fold the 2nd worst EV suited connectors
78s 4-bet or call if you roll a 1%
67s 8% 4-bet 6% call
56s 30% 4-bet 12% call
45s 10% call

56s seem to be the best suited connector deep stacked in 3-bet/4-bet/5-bet pots. Straight outs are not blocked as much and you have implied odds against a wheel.

Would be interesting to see some 300bb-1000bb GTO ranges and preflop sizings because it's common in live cash games.

More details would help, although knowing it's on Ignition, I might call just because the general population there is pretty bad. So you could win a massive pot against an overpair or something like that if you flop big. Go big with your bets when you do.
