Villain is a reg pro. Chip leader. Opening a large % of hands as expected.

Hero satellite in. While I do my best to not let $ effect my decisions this amount of money is still a large amount for me. I had posted on the staking side sub looking for a backer for these events but didnít find any. So far Iíve cashed two, including last Sunday getting knocked out around 30 left in the big event with Kk vs AA.

Blinds: 25-50k with 10k ante
Hero (all estimates): 1.1mil
V: 2.4 mil
BB 650k

Preflop:
Folded to Button who raises to 100k
Hero is in SB with 9s8s call
BB calls

Pot: 360k
Flop: 9c-7d-3s
Check, Check, V bets 110k
Hero calls
BB folds

Pot: 600k
Turn: 9c-7d-3s-3h
Hero checks
V bets 225k
Hero calls

River: 9-7-3-3-3
Hero checks
V jams

Spoiler:
Hero folds leaving himself around 750k

Apologize for lack of info, going off memory. Pretty sure I was 3/6 at this point, but Iíll request a hand history and update post.

If that's the case defo fold pre - losing chips here with a vpip is disastrous icm wise, especially if bb squeezes all-in. You don't want to chip up the stacks shorter than you. Button can put pressure on your tourney life postflop with a wide range (containing bluffs, but balanced with value) while you are pretty capped.

It's a decent spot for you to flat AA for the opposite reasons (you can call bb squeeze, button will overbluff, you uncap yourself). Mostly your continues here should be all-in with value. ICMizer will tell you a good range.

As played, I don't see how you can fold now. You are absolute top of range unless you somehow flatted 77, 99 or TT+ or A3s pre, all of which I doubt you would do

Depends wildly on BTN's strategy.

He can really punish you guys with open ships. If he's finding those at high frequency then he's quite polar when he opens for minsizing and this heavily skews what makes sense to 3b ship. If most of his calling range is AA, KK, QQ, and AKs because most of his Open2x range is AA, KK, QQ, AKs, and complete air then it doesn't really make sense to ship something like, say, TT or even QQ. It's not so nice to deny equity vs a bunch of two-under combos and one-over combos in exchange for exposing yourself to all five with no strategic recourse.

If BTN is quite polar then you'd rather want to ship like KK and Ax because of the sheer strength of the former and the blocker effects of the latter.

If BTN is quite polar, this also puts so much junk in his range that flatting becomes quite tenable with a pretty wide rage. Pairs down to 55 I'd say, ATo and AJo, KQo, SCs down to some 76s, J9s-K9s, AXs.

The fewer open ships he finds, and the more linear he opens for 2x sizing, the more linear you should make your 3b range in response and the fewer calls you should have pre--potentially no calls.

It's a justifiable call pre depending on your assumptions about BTN's strategy.

Yep. I regret that I can only bold the bolded section once.

It's preflop. Define value.

What is your guess for SB's strategy if BTN opens a linear range of: 44+, A2s+, A4o+, Suited broadways, unsuited broadways, 65s-T9s, 75s-J9s, 96s-Q9s, 6Xs, 9Xo, K2s-K5s, Q4s-Q5s

We would need to know the other stacks to approximate sb's ranges. If there are 2 players with sub 5bb then sb should be extremely tight, as an example.

Suppose they all have 15bb

I'm a bit confused why in your button range 9xo is an open but a bunch of good suited hands are folds.

With the button range you've given and the other two shorter stacks with 15bb prob something like all-in AJo+ AJs+ 88+ KQs, mix all-in/call AA ATs KQo, call suited broadways, mix call/fold 89s-K9s QJo.

Fold pre,
Don't want to flat here especially with your self image you've portrayed,
Jam better than call for sure but would depend massively on other stacks

98ss has great playability , that goes out the window 20bb deep and even more out the window with icm considerations
