Is shoving the only decent option here? Making a standard raise seems out of the question; & folding doesn't seem to be a very good idea either.

I see things like A8, KJ, etc. call here pretty often, so I'm shoving here.

2.5X it if you need to. At this point the reward from the blinds is so slim just wait for better spots to shove the bottom of your range. TBH you only get called stronger here or at a coin toss or 60/40. You beat random ranges yes, but when this play does not succeed it's the equivalent of a Mike Matusow blowup.

Players fold to 2.49X or 2.5X here almost as much or as much as they fold to a shove. Also don't say you have no postflop play because you have 2.5-3bb postflop play here before you get to around 7BB. I'm just saying you have some chips 13BB is just slightly too much to be risking your stack here.

11.5BB is my personal mark where i start thinking ship in these spots instead of 2.5X...

You typically don't want to be crushed if you're called but that is exactly what happens almost every time someone calls you here.

So you're saying it's either GG for you or you win 150 chips and change your equity position in the tournament to what? Wait. It bearly moves.

With 150/300 blinds shipping 3600 chips maybe you're not insane making this play UTG+1 6 handed

What I'm saying is the earlier on you make this play the stupider it gets.

I'm sorry if this upsets previous posters but this is just common sense to me. Sacrificing it all for 150 at this point in the sng is -EV you just win nominal amount of chips or you bust... ???

Am I normal? Is my logic just tainted by my nitty play?

I see premiums 60/40s we lose or pocket pair coin toss situations call me only. Unless I'm missing something.

True, people always seem very pleased to call in a spot like this with 55. So maybe I would just make a smaller raise here, giving me the chance to get out if I get reraised. My only problem with that though is that I also see people just calling that raise all the time and then I'm completely confused as to what to do on the flop. I would have to be putting almost half my remaining stack in if I want to make a cbet, or I could just check and hope he checks it down (if I don't hit the flop) with KQ or something.
