Hero 50k
Villain 40k
Blinds 1k/2k (2k ante)

About 65 players left from 175 with top 20 paying. V is newer to the table and seems kinda standard loose passive bad live player.

V limps 2k in MP1
Hero in LJ raise to 6.5k with KJcc
Folds around and V calls.

Flop Ac 3c 2d - Pot 18k

V checks
Hero 4k
V calls 4k

Turn 3d - Pot 26k
V checks
Hero?

He has just over a PSB behind. Thanks

First thought: Tricky spot that depends on what you think of his continuing range. If he would call the flop bet with 44/55, then barreling again here is good. If you think he'll fold his weaker limp/call Ax hands to a second barrel, then betting again is good as well. If you don't think he's folding any Ax, and you think he'd check/call 54s on the flop, then I'd check and try to realize my equity.

I agree with the check to realize equity.

I think the river is just as tricky- I am going broke no matter how the money goes on, if on the river, I hit the flush and he has or hits a boat.

Don't think flop size achieves much , he never folds better vs this size and if we bet bigger he has trickier spots with lower flush draws, prefer 40-50% on flop to give 5s-9s harder spot , force worst flush draws to check back and then we can jam some T or Q turns or choose to check back vs a more defined range and realise equity.

His range is still super wide here but no option feels great

C-bet bigger live. Fish will call a 50% c-bet with all kinds of nonsense.

Limited sample size but he sounds like a station. Just check turn, and bet big again if we hit our club.

I think I would bet turn to a size where we can get his stack in on river as a slightly under pot sized bet if we jam. Aka he has under pot.

I don’t mind check back turn to realize equity but I think some weak Ax folds and hands like 77 or 88 fold to a turn bet potentially. We have big range advantage. I’m fine also folding to a turn jam unless math warrants us calling. I like flop sizing but think we can go 33% pot also sometimes or maybe larger than 50% if we plan to check bad turns. As played I like betting turn like 8-12k. Really not anti checking back turn though bc it’s gross when villian shoves.

I like the c-bet. Don't mind a little bigger. If they were in the BB I would like a bigger flop c-bet.

OTT I just check back. If I'm continuing, I am continuing with diamonds and AT+ BIG. They're almost never folding an A.

I would cbet 6.5k.

The problem with checking here given our flop bet sizing is that it looks like we don't have an A. Though villain has 3x and 54 a lot more than we do so a check back makes some sense.

If we don't hit a diamond on the river I think I am checking back and I doubt I call a bet unless a J or K comes and even then it would depend on the sizing.

I like how it was played so far. If you have a loose aggressive player capable of reshoving wide ahead of you I'd size down to 4-5k otherwise I'd go your sizing. Flop played perfectly the cbet gets villain off whatever bs that was flatted. I check turn with the plan of betting river when checked to. Villain has a lot of pocket pairs and Ax. If its a high card river I'd go a bit smaller and if its a low card river I'd go higher. Im going with whatever size I think pushes off a pocket pair. This is under the assumption most Ax will put in a bet on the river when it goes x x turn.

If I hit a pair I'm checking river or going very small for value. If most As check I'm checking back.
